John piloted the drone but couldn't find Jeff or Nicole anywhere. Anxiety for their safety began to gnaw at him. Logically, Jeff and Nicole shouldn't have stayed in one spot for long. Yet, John meticulously scanned the area around the apartment building where the man had called for help and found no trace of them. He flew the drone near the police station, searching intently for a long while, but still came up empty-handed. By now, Jeff and Nicole had been gone from the supermarket for over three hours.
