Neven looked like he’d just seen a ghost. His eyes darted across me, scanning every inch. "f**k that. You scared us all, man! I heard gunshots."
I rolled my eyes and grunted. "Yeah, so did I." Thank god for the bulletproof vest. I could still feel the sting under it, though—like I'd been punched by a freight train.
Neven turned toward the stage, his eyes narrowing. "Yeah, Alexei said he had a plan. Just pulled out his gun and fired without warning. Told me to pretend like I didn’t know him."
