The Sister
Love is blind until you have to share the TV remote.
Since the Birthday Dad incident, Fanny had been on the phone to Mavis several times. Birthday Dad spent his time in hospital shouting for Fanny, and Fanny wanted to “get things right” before “stepping into the opposition,” as she called it.
“We haven’t talked in years,” said Mavis to Lumpy, “and now it’s more times than your trip to the takeaway. I told her all I know but will she listen? Look, I said, I am in the middle of a wedding crisis, I don’t have time for all this. Could have kicked myself, now she wants to know all about my wedding.”
“Oh, she knew before that,” said Lumpy.
“What?” said Mavis.
“Yes, she is helping me source things,” said Lumpy.
“Things? What things?”
“It’s a surprise,” said Lumpy
