Chapter Seventeen The Raffle Raffles are as much fun as driving in the rain without a windscreen wiper. The Bag Lady and Betty were Amanda’s “happy helpers” who seemed to know an awful lot about “reading centres.” I watched the Bag Lady talk about the importance of shelving like she ran a library. Why did she care? She’d always been a reclusive person. “I am all ears,” laughed Amanda.
