Chapter Twenty The Spice Rack Not all spices are “spicy”. The next day, I opened the door to a sheepish-looking Lumpy peering inside for any signs of his woman. He said he was feeling bad about the night before. Tenzam had come up with the idea of a cardamom and spice pudding instead of cake, and Lumpy thought it was a wonderful idea until he told Mavis. “It’s not easy for her at the moment,” he muttered. “I think I was a little flippant.” Mavis was on the couch pretending to be asleep. “We’re not having a cake or pudding,” he shouted to the lounge room.
