A few days had passed since the late night patio event with Reed. She hadn’t seen him much; he was still avoiding her. She’d still cooked for both of them, and most nights Reed would reheat the dinner and eat before retiring to his room. She’d asked him, “Seems like you’re really busy these days.” He’d replied, “Yes.” And that was it. She knew the truth, though. He was hiding from her—unable to tell her yes, but unable to tell her no. Thursday morning, Iz awoke with the most brilliant idea. A full plan slowly unfolded in her little head.
