Aurora's POV
I was dragged violently across the road, my arms grabbed while the townspeople outside stood watching the incident. Some of them had their hands pressed over their lips in shock, while hushed whispers broke out all around us.
The elder was very clearly trying to humiliate me publicly, but I didn't thrash or fight back against the grips on my arms. I simply allowed them to do whatever they wanted with me. Roland had just told me minutes ago that I needed to learn to pick my fights, and if I chose to fight back or thrash, I was at a disadvantage. My human body was already beaten and aching from my earlier fight with Josephine.
