Aurora's POV
My hands trembled, my breath hitched as I stood frozen, and my heart rose and fell in a wave of panic. Panic was engulfing me as my eyes stung and blurry with tears. He found me. Where did he even get my number? I was hyperventilating, my eyes rolling back in shock. My brain is still repeating the words like a mantra, making it hard to breathe, to get air in my lungs.
Roland shook me hard, her voice sounding like it was coming from somewhere underwater, muddled with the wave. "Aurora, breathe," but nothing was getting through. My ears were ringing in a loud pounding sound, drowning out everything else, until I felt my knees buckle before giving out beneath me as I met the floor and everything went dark.
