Chapter 45 - Helplessness
Aurora's POV
Every creak, every sound, and every shuffle in the house made my head twirl behind me, checking if someone was catching up to me in my home. Everything was taking its toll on me, and I couldn't help it, couldn't stop it; not even my own brain and mind were on my side anymore. I was drowning, deeper every day, and I knew it. Nightmare after nightmare chased me in sleep until sleep became something terrifying, until I found myself crouched in corners, trying to get away from the unknown.
When the nightmares stopped working on me in my sleep, they started catching me wide awake instead. Knox was catching up to me even with my eyes open now. There was a day Roland came to check on me, and I was so lost in the past that I didn't even notice her walking
