Chapter 50 - Break beautifully
Aurora's POV
I'd been waiting for Knox to snap, to go into full-blown anger, which I knew so well, but he hadn't said a word to me since the last time he'd walked in. If the thin ray of light beaming through the small window wasn't lying to me, that meant it was already a new day.
He'd released my hands the day before, telling me I was free to use the room however I wanted. Free. The room had a single bed, a small window, an old standing television, and nothing else. I swallowed thickly, although my mind was still shielding me from the worst of it, but I didn't know how much longer that would last. Was he waiting for the silence to break me?
Knox wasn't behaving the way he always had, and that unsettled me more than his anger. He should have hit me by now
