John was still talking when I caught sight of Liam taking a sip of his drink, and he was staring at me intently. He and I rarely related or talked, except for some looks he gave me sometimes that I didn't understand. Although I always saw him with Rook and Orion, we never spoke. It was awkward with him watching me like that, so I did what I thought was best—a peace offering, or whatever you want to call it.
