I was put on strict bed rest by Roland, but I quickly got bored of playing games on my phone. I decided I couldn't sit still for another second; I stood up to walk outside the bedroom just to stretch my cooped-up legs. As I was walking around the quiet hallway, looking around the house, I stopped in my tracks as I heard muffled noises coming from the room down the hall.
I blinked, still in place. I really didn't want to eavesdrop because the tone of the voices made it feel like a heated conversation, but just as I turned on my heel to leave them to their privacy, a familiar voice stopped me.
