CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN
Since I spent most of my day with Mrs. Campbell, I didn’t get much time to meet other kids. I couldn’t wait until Friday when Brian and I had lunch together.
Some guys and me are going to kick the ball around after lunch, want to play? Brian signed.
I didn’t want to risk looking foolish. What would Brian think if he saw how uncoordinated I’d become? His friends would laugh. He might not want to hang out with me. I wish I could, I signed. I was thankful enough to get around without the cane anymore. I meet with Dr. Stein after lunch.
