Ashley is sitting outside in the rain. Her elbow is on the top of her knee, her head resting on her hand, and her fingers moving in front of her mindlessly. A demon is holding an umbrella up for her but she's already soaking wet. Her eyeliner is run down her cheeks along with her purple lipstick. Her hair is a mess. She's never looked more beautiful. She looks up at me when I stop in front of her.
"Hey," she greets me. Her voice is low and lifeless.
"Hey," I squat down in front of her. "What are you doing out here?"
"Pretending to be you so I can feel better," she answers and I laugh.
"Is it working?"
"No," she shakes her head. "I'm really sorry I yelled at you,"
