Chapter 8 : First Day

Rose's POV .
" Hi I am Rose Green . Today I have to join as a Software Development Director . So can you please tell me where should I show my presence . " , I told the receptionist calmly.
"Yes mam , you have to go to Mr. Damon William . He will be on the 30th floor . The last room after turning right from the elevator . " , she said after checking something on her computer . " You can find the elevator there ." , she said pointing towards a door .
After thanking her I walked towards the elevator and got inside . The buttons were shining with blue light glowing around their perimeter , it was giving the lift a classy look . I pressed the button which was numbered as thirty .
I checked the time on mobile which showed me that I still have twenty minutes . Swiping right on the screen I unlocked it and commenced to write message to mom .
Good morning mom . I have reached the company safely and am on my way to begin my first day with all of your blessings .
Within seconds my phone vibrated , indicating that I have received a new message .
Mom replied : Good morning my lovely child . Hope you will have a great day . My blessings are always with you . Love you . I was thinking about mom and dad when the ding sound of the elevator reached my ears , bringing me out of my thoughts .
Exiting it , I took a right turn and approached the last door . I once again checked on myself and knocked on the door . "Come in . " , came a deep voice from behind the door . I slowly went inside and there was a handsome man seated on swivel behind a wooden desk . He must in his mid twenties . With his perfect jawline and perfect look he was looking very handsome .
" Good morning Mr. William . I am Rose Green and I am here to join as Software Development Director . " , with a smile I told him . " Good morning miss Green . I was waiting for you ." , he said politely ." I hope you didn't have much difficulty coming here . First I'll show you your workplace then I will tell you your task . Follow me . " , standing up from his swivel and started to walk towards the door . I did as told and soon we were approaching towards the elevator . He pressed a button for the twentieth floor after entering the lift.
The door opened and he started to speak . " Miss Green , this floor is where you have to work . All the staff here will be under you . He is Tom , he is Max , she is Kate . And I guess that you can meet the rest by yourself . " , he introduced me to two men and a young lady . One of those men was tall but the other one was a bit short . Both were having a serious look . Scary . But the women on the other hand was looking sweet and lovely , smiling from ear to ear . I think that I can befriend her . Like a best friend .
"This is your office and all the important files are there , on that shelf . " , pointing out at the shelf on the right side of my desk . " If you want anything then you have Kate and Tom here with you . And now let's talk about the work . You will be working under me . Your basic work will be to check whether the software are working properly or not , if they have any updates which is helpful for the company . And you have to also design new software which will be helpful for our employees as well as for our clients . " , he explained everything politely .
" So before we start the main task , your today's work is to go through all those files , understand them . They will give you a general description about each software . " . Mr. William paused for a moment , then continued , " If you don't understand anything then you can come to me . I hope you will finish them by today . Now start working . " , then he went out of the door .
Now I am standing in front of the shelf and picking up the files . They are not much in number but I guess the stuff inside might be long .
Putting all those files on my desk I started going through them . They are written in a profound manner which attracts me . The person must have worked really hard for it . I really appreciate it .
" Miss Green , are you not going to have your lunch ? " , came a voice which urged me to look up and then I saw that Kate is standing a feet away from my desk . I glanced at my wrist watch and it is one o'clock . I didn't even realized that it has been lunch time unless Kate mentioned it . I smiled at her and said , " Oh ! Yeah I am going for lunch . Are you coming with me ? "
" Yes mam I am going . You were lost in reading those files so I decided to remind you that it is lunch time . " , she stated .
"Um ..yes I didn't even glanced at the clock and I didn't realize that it is already lunch time . Thanks for reminding me . " . Then I continued , "So let's go together . " . I stood up from my chair and closed the file I was reading .
We both went to the cafeteria area in our building . Meanwhile she told me that she got placed here just a month ago and she didn't has much friends . She also told me that she bullied by other female employees for her dressing sense . They think that every girl should be like them , wear revealing clothes with a slutty character . She said when she saw me she understood that I am similar to her , wearing simple jeans and top , sweet nature . We are talking like we have know each other for a long time . I gradually got to know that she is very much like me , for example our food taste is similar , our choices are similar .
Now we both are coming back to our office after having our lunch . " Rose why didn't you joined our company in your own country ? I mean it is okay to join here as well but our company allows the employees to join from their country as well . So why didn't you ? " .
" Oh ! actually when I went for the interview I was told that I am already selected by Mrs Fitzgerald. and she also told me that I have to join the company in America only me and that two in three days . So , I came here . " .
"But you know that ..." , before she could complete her sentence our conversation was interrupted by a manly voice I turn around and saw that Mr William is standing just a few feet away from us .
" Ladies , get back to work rather than gossiping around. We need to finish above work because tomorrow our Bigg Boss is coming for a visit in our company and if he sees that the work is not done yet then trust me he won't approve it . ", he said with a serious look plastered on his face .
" And you Rose , have you completed going through to those files ? " , he turned towards me and asked. " Yes sir , it's almost done , will finish it in the next hour . " , I answered .
" Good , after that come to my office I have to discuss something " , with this he turned around and went towards the elevator area .
"Okay Kate , I will accomplish my work as soon as possible , then we will continue . And in the meantime you should also finish your's . Bye . " . Then we went to our respective workplaces .
As said , I completed my today's task within an hour . Right now I am standing in front of Mr. William's office . I knocked gently on the smooth wooden surface . His voice came from the other side , giving me permission to enter the room .
When I entered I saw him talking to someone through his mobile phone . He ended the call as soon as he found that I have come . He signaled me to sit down on one of the chairs , and I did as told .
" Have you read all those files ? " , he asked sitting on his swivel .
" Yes sir " , i replied .
" Have you made any summary as well ? " , another question .
" Yes sir , here it is . " , I said giving him my diary .
He started turning pages , till the end , and closed it .
" Well done ! Now Rose I am going to assign you a new task . You have to send these files on this address. " , he said passing a bundle of files towards me , followed by a card which had the receiver's address . Taking a glance at the card , I turned my head towards him . He continued , " It is quite far away so my driver will take you there . There , Mr. Jones Bennett will take you to the receiver's room . Okay ? "
"Okay sir . I just have to give it and come back ? "
" Yes , Now pack your things up . My driver is waiting for you ." .
" Okay sir . Have a nice day " .
Then I left his office and went straight to my office , and packed up my stuff .
Within a few minutes I was in the parking area , walking towards Mr. William's driver .
But I never knew that this evening is going to change my whole life .

Third Person's Point of View :
" Hello ? " , Damon said through his phone .
" She has left . She will be there in an hour . " , he said .
"Yes , I have seen her . She is 'SHE ' " , he spoke .
"No , I didn't let her know anything about you . Kate was about tell her something that could have created problem for us . But before she could say anything I interrupted their conversation . " , he spoke after a minute .
" Yes , everything is going according to the plan . Just wait for her arrival . " , with this he ended the call , a smirk on his thin lips .
