He stormed off down the hall. His bear was worked up. Growling at Dru was something he would have never done, but something about his alpha being in the same room as Stephanie irritated him. Yet, he hadn’t felt the mate bond, just extreme possessiveness. He believed her when she said she had never done drugs, and that made what happened to her last night even more concerning.
If someone had just wanted to r**e her, then roofies would have been the drug of choice. Shooting her up with heroin seemed like it was a message. He needed to find out more about her. His bear roused at that thought. Which brought Jake to a second conclusion that he needed to find out what was going on with his bear as well.
