Jake
Stephanie’s dad hated him. Or the man had one hell of a poker face. Stephanie had wasted no time introducing him to her mom and dad, or as he would refer to them Mr. and Mrs. Simmons. Her mother was sweet enough. She’d immediately embraced Jake and thanked him for taking such good care of Stephanie.
Mr. Simmons on the other hand had gripped his hand like he was trying to break it, and then glared at him. Jake tried to break the ice several times, but came up short each time. Stephanie either didn’t notice or decided to ignore her father’s abrasive behavior as she set about mingling with everybody.
When Lucy and Emily caught sight of Stephanie, all three women hugged and squealed. Stephanie had seen Emily since everything had happened with Mike being in the hospital.
