My breath caught, every muscle in my body almost freezing as the memories of everything that happened last night flooded my mind while I was at work.
I couldn't focus. My mind was all over the place, even though I tried my best to pull myself together. It just didn't seem possible. Not when Gideon was out there in New York with nothing on his mind except how he was going to ruin my life.
I knew my brother, unfortunately. And it was that knowledge of him that made me certain he wasn't just in New York for the sake of being here.
