KADE'S POV You see, I knew people had a tendency to disappoint you or fall short of their responsibilities unless you followed up with them. I'd seen it all. Running a company meant dealing with all kinds of people, so I wasn't inexperienced. That's why I made a point of telling Ava not to be late today. She'd been a few minutes late to our first two sessions. The third time, she was technically still late, but I didn't count it since I had been waiting outside her apartment building for her. Even now, as I sat in my house waiting, she was already an hour late. I didn't bother calling her immediately because I assumed she'd call first. But she didn't.
