His Night Obsession

Kabanata 14

The loud music welcomed us as we walked inside lifestyle district. Avi greeted some of her friends while Blaze and I are just patiently waiting for her to be done. Iilang mga mata ang napatingin sa akin at iilang lalaki rin ang nakita kong nakatingin sa katawan ko. Halo-halo ang nararamdaman ko sa mga oras na ito. I feel shy and the same time happy that finally I have the courage to hang out with them and to be seen inside the club after the incident.

“OMG, Davi!” Alexa, my classmate screamed when she saw me.

Kakapasok niya lang din sa loob kaya madali niya lang kaming nakita. I looked at her and smile. She hugged and me at ganoon rin ang ginawa ko. She’s with some of my girl classmates na kadarating lang din.

“Girl, you’re stunning,” Alexa commented while looking at me.

I can see in their faces that they looked surprised and in awe.

“Oo nga, uwian na guys. May nanalo na,” Kristen, my classmate said.

Nagtawanan kami dahil sa komento niya. Panay puri sila sa akin kaya mas lalo tuloy akong nahiya. I don’t want attention pero alam kong na itong suot ko na ito ay makakahakot talaga ng atensyon.

“Uy, si Davi. Pa-isa naman,” dinig kong sigaw galing sa malayo.

Lahat ng mata ay napatingin sa akin dahil tinuturo ako noong sumigaw. Alexa hides me in her back while Blaze is looking for the guy who shouted.

“Putangin* mo,” Kristen shouted while raising her middle finger.

I looked at Kristen and saw how mad she was. Tinignan ko si Blaze na nasa gilid ko at nakita kong nakakuyom na ang kaniyang kamao. I cleared my throat and they looked at me.

“Ayos ka lang?” Alexa asked.

Tumango ako sa kaniya.

“Okay lang, sanay na ako.” nakangisi kong sabi habang iniiwasan ang kanilang mga titig.

I’m really not okay but I’m trying and pretending to be. Ayokong magkagulo ulit at masaktan na naman sila dahil lang sa akin. Alexa hugged me and caressed my back.

“We are always here for you. Hindi ka pwedeng masanay na bastusin ka, you need to fight too, Davi,” puno ng pag-alaala niyang sabi.

Tipid akong napangiti sa kaniyang sinabi. She’s right, I need to fight and speak up for myself but I couldn’t. The atmosphere feels so heavy that I almost couldn’t breathe. Everyone is on alert and trying to protect me from any possible harm.

“Hey, sorry natagalan ako.” Avi said while waving at us.

Tinignan ko siya at nakitang nakakunot ang kaniyang noo habang tinitignan ang mga kaklase kong alerto sa tabi ko.

“What happened?” she asked, worriedly.

“Wal-“

“Davi was harassed,” Blaze cut me off.

Napalingon ako sa kaniya at nakita ang seryoso niyang mukha. Avi gasped and walked away. Sinundan ko siya ng tingin hanggang sa mawala siya sa dagat ng mga tao.

“Where is she going?” I asked, curiously.

“Plan B,” mahinang bulong ni Kristen.

I looked at her with confusion. What does it means?

Hindi ko alam kung saan ang iba kong kaklase at mga ka-department ko dahil hindi naman ako kasali sa pag plaplano nila. I really want to go to our table and sit because my feet is starting to hurt dahil sa taas ng heels na suot ko. I also want to get away from those stares because it’s consuming me slowly.

“Good evening, party peeps!” sigaw ng DJ at nagsigawan ang mga tao.

The party is not on its peak but the people here are already wild. I tried to find Avi in the crowd but I couldn’t find her, nag-aalala na ako dahil baka kung ano na ang ginawa niya.

“Are you enjoying the night?” sigaw ulit ng DJ.

The people shouted ‘Yes’ and continued cheering. Hinawakan ni Kristen ang kamay ko at hinila patungo sa mga couch kung saan may nakita akong isang malaking group. The couch is being combined together, hula ko mga apat o lima iyon at marami pang space na available. Ang couch ay hugis parihaba na may tig-dadalawang couch sa gilid at isang couch sa gitna ngunit ang lahat ng couch ay konektaod.

“I know you’re enjoying the night but I’m sad to say that we are going to close early,” natigil ako sa paglalakad kaya napalingon sa akin si Kristen.

I looked at her and looked at Blaze and Alexa behind me. Bakit pa kami pupunta sa mg aka-department naming e mag-clo-close naman daw sila ng maaga.

The people groan in frustration and the DJ keeps on saying sorry. Hindi ko alam kung bakit sila nagsara ng maaga gayong marami namang tao ang narito at halos nasa peak na ang party.

“Saan tayo pupunta?” I asked her.

Some bouncers escorted the people out and some are arguing with those hard headed customer. Binalik ko ang tingin sa tinurong couch ni Kristen at nakitang nakaupo pa rin ang mg aka-department ko na tila ba walang nangyari.

“Okay. What is happening?” nagtataka kong tanong habang nakatingin kina Blaze.

Alexa smile widely while looking at my back. Lumingon ako at nakita si Avi na naglalakad patungo sa amin. Isang matamis na ngiti ang iginawad niya bago huminto sa harapan ko.

“This is plan B,”she sweetly said and pinch my cheek.

Napaawang ang labi ko habang manghang pinagmasdan ang mga kaibigan ko. I am starting to tear up because of what they did.

“Ang mahal naman ng Plan B ninyo,” naiiyak kong komento habang yumayakap kay Avi.

I heard them laughed and teases me saying that I’m the one who is going to pay for this plan. Mga baliw, wala na nga akong allowance pagbabayarin pa ako. Matapos akong magdrama sa kanila ay hinila na nila ako patungo sa couch. Kahit kami na lang dito ay hindi ko pa rin masasabing boring dahil marami kami at puno pa rin ng hiyawan ang loob ng club.

Nnag makalapit na kami sa couch ay nakita ko agad si James na nakatayo sa gilid ng couch habang nakatingin sa amin.

“Davi,” James called me, “Wow, you look hot.”

He said while kissing my check. Mahina akong tumawa habang hinahampas ang kaniyang braso.

“Ang bolero,” natatawang kumento ko sa kaniya.

He laughed and greeted the others. The others welcomed us and greeted me. I smiled to them and sitted at the left corner out the couch. Kami na lang pala ang hinihintay nilang dumating kaya panay reklamo ang iilang kaklase ko dati ang tagal raw namin.

They are already drinking when we got there that’s why some of my seniors and classmates are already tipsy. Ang mga junior namin ay wala rito dahil may exam pa sila kinabukasan kaya hindi sila makakasama. I am drinking and listening to them talking about academic struggles and how much they hate a certain subject, which I can relate. I’m just listening to them silently when all of the sudden the topic changed into me.

“Davi, may boyfriend ka na ba raw?” James asked that makes all of them stare at me.

I was in the middle of drinking when he asked me that, that’s why napaubo ako. James is sitted in front of me kaya madali ko lang siyang nakita. I looked at him and smiled.

“Why?” I asked nervously.

I could easily say that I don’t have a boyfriend but I just want to know where is his question coming from. I don’t want that kind of question lalo na at sa kaniya galing. I don’t like having a relationship with someone that is in the same department as me, hassle.

“May nagpapatanong lang,” he said and drink the tequila on his hand.

Napaawang ang labi ko sa sinabi niya. My heart is beating so loud just because I’m assuming that someone is interested at me at may posibiladad pa na ka-department koi yon.

“Who?” hindi makapaniwalang tanong ko.

Avi laughed and called me cute because according to her, I am blushing daw which is true dahil naparami na ang inom. The whole gang is silent and super interested in this topic. Hindi ko nga alam kung bakit ako ang naging topic nila.

“Me,” someone said in a husky voice.

Mabilis akong lumingon sa pinangalinggan ng boses at halos lumuwa ang mata ko sa aking nakita. Umaawang ang labi ko habang ang puso ko ay halos sumabog na dahil sa lakas ng kalabog ng puso ko.

In the middle of the couch, a very familiar man is sitting. He was holding a glass of alcohol while the other one is on the shoulder of my girl senior. Napalunok ako habang tinitignan siyang nakatitig sa akin. He raised his brow and a ghost smile appeared on his lips.

“Hi Davi, nice to see you again,” he said in a playful voice.

Kumalabog ang puso ko. My senior teases Andreus but he just chuckled and drink his glass of alcohol. I looked away and started to drink. Ang mga pawis ko ay patuloy sa pagtulo dahil sa aking nararamdaman. Naramdaman ko ang pagsiko ni Avi sa gilid ko kaya napatingin ako roon.

“What?” mahinang tanong ko habang pinagdidilatan siya ng mata.

Pinagsingkitan niya ako ng mata habang ngumunguso sa direksyon ni Andreus. Nilingon ko si Andreus at nakitang nakatingin siya sa amin. I looked away and focused on Avi, I wanted to distract myself because I can feel my heart is going to burst any minute from now.

“You told me you didn’t know Andrix?” she asked while still looking at Andreus.

I gulped and took a deep breath while my brain is constructing an alibi. I couldn’t tell her that I f*ck with Andrix the first time I know him, that would be embarrassing.

“Nagkita kami sa cafeteria,” I lied while smiling.

Mas lalong sumingkit ang kaniyang mata habang pabalik-balik ang kaniyang tingin sa akin at kay Andreus. I just hope that she will buy that lame excuse of mine para naman matapos na ang pangiintriga niya.

“But I just asked you the other day about him,” she said while crossing her arms in front of her chest.

Napatingin ako kay Andreus at nakitang nakikipag-usap na siya sa kaniyang mga kaklase. Napairap ako ng mapansin ang kaniyang kamay na nasa hita ng katabi niyang babae at hinihimas iyon, ibang klase.

“I forgot that we met,” matapang kong sabi habang ibinabalik ang tingin kay Avi.

She raised her brow and laughed. I know that wouldn’t be believable kung sa ibang tao ko sinabi iyan, but Avi knows how easily I forgot things kaya halos lahat ng activities o gala naming ay naka reminder at alarm sa cellphone ko upang hindi ko makalimutan lalo na kung matagal pa iyon.

“That’s hurt, Davi.” rinig kong sabi ni Andreus kaya napalingon ako sa kaniya. He is now looking at me while has hand is rested on his knee. “I didn’t forget you since the day that we met.”

Naghiyawan ang lahat matapos marinig ang sinabi niya. Nakatulala lamang ako habang piangmamasdan siyang seryosong nakatingin sa akin kahit na tinutukso na siya. I cleared my throat and looked away.

The intensity of his stare is beyond my capacity and my face is heating up quickly. Bakit ba kasi kailangan na nandito siya? Bakit simula noong may nangyari na sa amin ay palagi na kaming pinagtatagpo ng tadhana. I don’t want to see him again. Grabe ang ginagawa kong effort para lang hindi kami magkasalubong o magkita tapos ngayon magkikita lang kami rito?

“You must be crazy,” mahinang bulong ko habang sinisipsip ang inumin ko.

“Yeah, crazy for you,” he said in a hoarse voice.

Naibuga ko ang iniinom ko kaya mabilis na inabutan ako ni Alexa ng tissue habang tumatawa. Ang mga kaklase niya ay panay panunukso sa kaniya habang ang mga kaklase ko naman ay panay din tanong sa akin. Tinignan ko si Avi na kausap si Blaze ngayon at kinalabit siya. She just smile and looked away. Masama ko siyang tinignan at tumayo.

“Restroom lang ako,” paalam ko kay Avi.

Tumango siya at sinabihang mag-ingat ako. Ngunit hindi pa nga ako nakakapagsimulang maglakad ay narinig ko na naman ang boses niya.

“Are you going to run again just like what you did before, Davi?” he asked in a monotonous voice.

Umawang ang labi ko at ipinikit ang mata dahil sa inis na nararamdaman ko para sa kaniya. He’s such a jerk. Why would he say that? Magiging mas curious lang ang mga narito dahil sa sinabi niya. Is he enjoying this? He knows that I’m trying to cover up what really happened between us but he keeps on messing with it.

“What the f*ck did you just say?” I asked him in annoyance.

I looked at him with annoyance and saw how his lips twitch and smiled arrogantly. Natahimik ang lahat matapos akong magmura. Madalang lang nila akong naririnig na magmura dahil hindi ko gustong nagmumura ako. But, this jerk is pushing my button. He’s not helping me to cover up what really happened at parang gustong-gusto niya pa na ipagyabang ang nangyari sa amin.

“Chill out. I’m just asking,” he said in a bored voice.

I looked at him in disbelief. I can’t believe this man.

“Well, shut the f*ck up because I don’t want to hear your voice,” galit kong sigaw.

Nagkasalubong ang kaniyang kilay at tumayo. Napaawang labi ko nang makita ko ang kabuan niya. He’s wearing a white button down shirt that is folded to the elbow and the first three button are open exposing his chest. It was paired with a gray slim-fit trouser and a white sneaker. He looked like a Greek God standing in front of me. Napalunok ako. I saw how his lip rose while licking his lower lip. D*mn, I really f*ck him, I f*ck someone this hot.

“Oh, the last time we met you were begging for it,” he arrogantly said and walked towards me.

Ang buong atensyon ko ay nasa kaniya lang at halos nakalimutan ko na may iba pala kaming kasama. My feet is rooted in the ground that I couldn’t move even though I wanted to run away, run far away from him.

“Shut up,” I said in between my teeth.

I’m trying to calm down but the more he was closer to me, the more my body won’t move. I’m admiring him, I admire how handsome and hot he was at the same time, I admire how cool he was, I admire how perfect he was. I shouldn’t admire him because I know he was no good for me but I couldn’t lie to myself.

“Make me, Davi,” he said and stopped in front of me.

I hold my breath when he was in front of me. Kahit na hindi ako humihinga ay amoy na amoy ko pa rin ang kaniyang pamilyar na pabango. I looked away and tried so hard to distract myself. He’s in front of me for God’s sake. Andreus is in front of me and I don’t know what to do.

My heart is racing so loud that I could hear my heart more than the loud music in here. Ang pawis ko ay patuloy sa pagtulo at halos manigas na ako sa kinatatayuan ko. I calmed myself because I don’t want to look pathetic and more obvious.

Matapang ko siyang hinarap ngunit muntik na kaming maghalikan buti na lang at tumigil siya. Lumaki ang mata ko habang siya naman ay tumawa. I saw how he bite his lower lip while he’s carefully looking at myface as if he was memorizing every part of it.

My heart is pounding and racing like crazy at nahihiya ako dahil baka rinig niya ang malalakas na kalabog ng puso ko. I was stiff as rock when he lean closer to me and whisper.

“Don’t tell me you really forget everything about that night because that’s bullsh*t. I couldn’t even forget what happened between us, Davi. Everything that we did was stuck in my head, replying all the time and it’s driving me crazy.” he sensually said and left.
