Chapter 17 First Day Part 3

CAIN'S POV

We drove in a comfortable silence. I didn't want to disturb her as she was watching the scenery on the way to the station. I also needed time to control myself before we got to the station and would be in a confined space together.

Once I drove into the parking lot of the station, I turned to look at her just to find she was fast asleep.

"Mate, trust us enough to sleep in our presence," said Titan, happily wagging his tail.

"You look like a dog right now stop it." I said back while watching my mate breathe slowly in her sleep.

"I wish she would always look this peaceful," I stated as I reached my hand over to brush a strand of hair off her face.

"She can once we become mates and can protect her all the time," said Titan proudly.

I laid my head down on the steering wheel as we watched her sleeping blissfully unaware of her surroundings.

"We should wake her up now," I said to Titan as I reached my hand over to her shoulder.

"No, let mate rest. I want to keep watching her sleeping face," Titan said pleadingly.

"One day we can hopefully, but you know our mate, she'll be upset with herself if she sleeps so long on her first day," I said.

He whined in my head but agreed. After our mate said how hardworking she is, we knew she'd be upset with herself the whole day if we left her sleeping.

After waking her up, we headed inside to my office where the real test of my resolve would begin. I walked over to my computer to start pulling up the application for hire and any other documents I would need her to fill out today.

While I was waiting for the computer to load everything up, I glanced at Lila who was looking around my office. It was subtle, but I could tell she was excited. I don't know what had her so in thought to not notice when I called her name.

I walked over behind her and placed my hands on her shoulders to guide her to the desk chair. As soon as my hands landed on her shoulders, despite the fabric being in the way, I could still feel the sparks of our bond.

After I told her what she needed to fill out, she got to work on typing on the computer. I stood behind her glancing at my hands to where the sparks were.

"Did you feel that?" I asked Titan in my mind.

"Yes, the bond is growing stronger," he said excited.

"I knew our bond would get stronger the longer we spent together, but are you sure that spark was normal?" I said in disbelief. As far as I know, when our kind mates with a human, the bond is stronger on the wolf's side, but after spending a large amount of time with a human mate, the mate bond between the two usually gets stronger for both. It usually gets strong enough for a human to feel the light sparks when we touch, but what I felt just now was like a surge of power through my entire body.

"Our mate is special! Don't question it," growled Titan.

I would never question my mate. She was picked by the goddess for me, but Titan knew something I didn't. I figured it was something he wasn't willing to share right now, so I just shook my head.

Once I was out of my thoughts, I could her the clicking of the keyboard and glanced down at my mate who was focused on filling out her information.

I couldn't help but think of how cute she was looking so concentrated. Her scent drifted up to my nose and I couldn't stop myself from smelling the top of her head. She didn't seem to notice me and I could feel myself start to get hard. Before it could get any worse, I decided to leave the room before I ended up making a mistake.

I walked out and shut the door behind me and placed my head on the door that separated us.

Even though I left the room to calm down, my thoughts did nothing but that. I tried shutting my eyes to regain composure, but it had the opposite affect. Now I could picture myself tossing the computer on to the floor and making her focus on me instead. The way I would look down at her concentrated facing, wondering how she would take all of my d***k in her mouth. How I would ease it slowly into her mouth as she looked up at me with those sweet dark brown eyes. Those beautiful eyes becoming teary as I pushed myself deep into her throat. My hands in her hair guiding her as she took every inch of me.

I opened my eyes and looked down at my hard on it was anything but gone.

I let out a sigh, realizing this was going to become much harder than I thought. If I can't keep my d***k calm, how am I supposed to keep seeing her beautiful face every day? It's only been 2 days, and I've already had more blue balls than my entire life before meeting her.

After 5 minutes of standing there thinking of everything besides my beautiful mate, my hard on finally went down. I decided to go get us something to eat.

As I got us breakfast, I decided to text my mother asking how Jax was. She texted back wondering why I didn't just mind-link her and I said this way I could show Lila that she said he was doing okay. She agreed that it was better that way and told me how he's been out helping my father take care of the animals since he woke up.

I couldn't help but smile when I heard that.

"Our pup loves animals. Maybe we should get him a pet when we live together?" Titan asked.

"Yes we should, but after we ask our mate if it's okay," I said back as I entered the station carrying our breakfast.

As I walked into the room I could feel the tension in the air. I glanced up and saw our mate glaring at some woman standing in my office.

Lila, feeling my presence, turned her gaze towards me, relief flooding them for a brief moment before turning cold when she heard the woman's overly sweet tone say, "Cain, I'm back!"
