Chapter 2 Planning

693 Words
All day I was on pins and needles. "Does he know? Was he acting like he knew nothing just to laugh in my face?". "My parents will be coming in tomorrow to help with the baby when you go home," he said as he held our baby boy. I smiled a tight smile and nodded. His parents knew what he had done to me, but didn't care. For them, he was their precious child, and I was just some broken toy he took home. He smiled while he raked his eyes over my body while saying, "Your body should spring back to normal in a month, then we can get started on his sibling." I almost frowned but caught myself before he noticed. " The doctor says it's good to wait at least 6 weeks for my body to heal before doing.. that," I say as I stare at the floor. He got up and handed me the baby as he kissed me on the head." Don't worry, I'll be gentle." I watched him leave the room and thought to myself, "When was he ever gentle? When did he ever care about my needs?" I let out a small sigh and looked down at my sleeping boy. " Don't worry, Jax will be far away from him before he knows it." Luckily for me, Nathan never came back to the hospital. I had no idea where he was but anywhere was better than near me. He always used to say he made money, so I had no right to know his whereabouts. I looked down at my phone 11:45 P.M." Would now be too early to call her? I know she said the same time, but I'm anxious." After 15 more minutes went by, I decided to call her. I was too anxious to keep waiting, wanting to know what the plan was. I dialed her number and pulled the phone to my ear. After the first ring, she picked up. "Girl, are you ready for freedom?" she said happily. Just as I was about to answer her, the door opened with Nathan walking in. My heart literally jumped out of my chest. I was frozen fear began creeping up on me. On the other end of the phone I could hear Sonia calling my name. As I stared at him wide-eyed. He was on the phone, his brows furrowed, but he wasn't looking at me. In the split second, I hung the phone up and shoved it in the blanket between my legs. He walked over to me and kissed me on the head before he sat down still talking on the phone. "What was he doing here? He never comes this late. Did he hear?" My thoughts were all over the place. My forehead began to sweat while I couldn't control my fingers from playing with the blanket. When he finally ended his call, he looked at me for a moment. By then my nerves were shot. It was taking everything in me not to cry and start apologizing. " I forgot to mention my parents will be staying at a hotel for the week that they are here, since you won't be able to be a proper host," he said, sounding irritated. I just stared at him not believing this is why he came so late to complain about how I wouldn't be able to serve his parents after having our baby. Then he looked up at me with a small smile. "You should be happy you have got someone as considerate as me to love you." I almost choked on my saliva and nodded. "Of course, I'm always happy." He stood up and leaned in close to my ear and said" Then make sure to reward me when you get home". He moved back and gave me a long kiss before heading towards the door. As soon as he was gone, I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. I pulled my phone back out and dialed Sonia back, not wasting another second. " I need to be gone by tomorrow night," was all I said.
