Kaida POV      I rushed out of the tent, forcing my body to take each and every step despite its vehement protesting, begging me to lie down and allow the shift to run its course before trying to run.  Every step sent shockwaves of pain coursing through my body. Every labored breath, as I pushed harder to keep moving, burned my lungs to the point of bleeding, but still, I persisted. We had only shifted a handful of time at best, because back when we first started this journey, Nikita and I had both agreed that, although it would be miserable, the pain would be worth it in order to minimize the chances of someone catching site of us in our true form and reporting the siting to the Council.
