I went to Madison's apartment.
She opened the door, took one look at my face, and pulled me inside.
"What happened?"
"Dante lied. About everything. About Brian."
I told her the whole story. Emily Costa. The evidence. The confrontation. Dante admitting he was there when Brian died.
Madison listened without interrupting. When I finished, she just held me while I cried.
"I'm so stupid. I gave up everything for him. My career. My reputation. Almost my freedom. And the whole time he was lying about the one thing that mattered most."
"You're not stupid. You're in love. That makes people do things they wouldn't normally do."
