The caller tried again. This time he increased the volume on the TV set. After a while, he heard something like his main gate opening. Was that Austin? He hoped it was the boy because the alternative would be armed robbers. His heartbeat suddenly picked up. He thought this was a safe estate. He started creeping to the door and nearly jumped when he heard a knock. It took him a while to realize robbers did not knock so politely. “Sir, are you there?” Austin called out. “It’s Miss Keside.” What? He yanked the door open and saw her standing there. She had obviously been the one calling him and then when he hadn’t responded, she had called Austin to come get the door. “Thank you, Austin.
