After leaving Dan, Anna, and Sophia behind, Killian made his way back to the gas station where he had ditched the backpack stuffed with gold bars and cash that Dan had looted earlier from the bunker. Upon arriving, Killian parked his car among the others outside the diner. But instead of stepping out right away, he stayed put, sitting in his car for a while, scoping out the scene. He scanned everything, the cars parked nearby, whether they were diner patrons or not, it didn’t matter to him. If his hunch was spot-on, after dumping the bag of gold and cash, the people hunting them would have already picked up their trail.
