Killian gripped Anna’s hand tightly, leading her in hurried strides toward the hidden submarine dock beneath the old building. The dock served as a safe point for members of SSI—the covert intelligence agency he belonged to. Yet, a foreboding feeling had been gnawing at him for hours, and it only grew stronger as they approached the submarine’s parking area.
Dim lighting illuminated the dock, casting a faint glow over the backs of several figures standing in front of the large, sleek black submarine stationed there.
