55. The Chase

1947 Words

An hour dragged on painfully slowly, and Dan, feeling bored with the trip, decided to close his eyes. What he didn’t realize was that a few people had been tailing him ever since he left Killian’s house. Instead of making a move on Dan, these people just followed him from a distance, keeping a close watch—like they were trying to figure out exactly where he was headed after leaving his brother’s place. It wasn’t just one person either. There were three of them, and they were hyperaware of their presence, doing their best to stay off Dan’s radar. They knew from their previous encounters that there was about a 60% chance of getting spotted, and one of them had even run into trouble with Killian Reagow before. Luckily for him, Killian hadn’t done anything—just let them go without delay.
