The Club

529 Words
We stand in line for about 30 minutes before the club opens, 12:00am on the dot and the doors are open, a rush of sound nearly bursts my eardrums as we walk in. A crowd of people are already inside, they must be VIP, definitely too cool for me. I immediately feel eyes on me, but I pay no mind. We make our way to the bar, I order a shot and a s*x on the beach, Kylie and Shay order the same thing, we’ve never drank anything besides stale tasting beer out of a keg in some frat house so we want to try everything. Kylie is dying to have a bloody mary so she also orders 3, that way we can all try one. We find a table and wait for our drinks. “LOOK AT THAT CUTE GUY STARING KENZ” Kylie yells over the music, I quickly gaze around and find a tall handsome guy staring at me, we lock eyes and shivers are instantly sent throughout my whole body, nothing I’ve ever experienced before. I quickly break eye contact and pretend as if nothing happened. As the night continues I notice the same guy watching me on the dance floor but pay no mind. After 20 shots, a bloody mary, and a s*x on the beach the LAST thing on my mind is a strange guy I’ve never seen before. I’m here to party, and that’s it. I have my whole life ahead of me, I do NOT need a guy in my life right now. I make my way back to the bar feeling dizzy from all the alcohol, but I’m going to hit 21 shots tonight, that’s tradition on a 21st birthday. I order my 21st shot and start to walk away when I’m met by a tall man with dark hair, tan skin and the most beautiful blue eyes I’ve ever seen, “YOU’RE THE GUY THAT’S BEEN WATCHING ME” I say slurring my words, he chuckles and his eyes shift to his feet “IT’S HARD NOT TO.. YOU’RE BEAUTIFUL” he replies. I can feel myself blushing so I look at the ground “MY NAME IS TYLER” our eyes meet again and instantly the shivers are back “I’M MACKENZIE BUT MY FRIENDS CALL ME KENZIE FOR SHORT” I say with a drunken smile. “WHERE DID YOUR FRIENDS GO?” he asks, “THEY WERE BOTH PRETTY DRUNK SO THEY GOT AN UBER HOME”. “THEY LEFT YOU HERE ALONE!? A BEAUTIFUL GIRL IN A CLUB WITH WEIRD MEN?” he says smiling nervously. “HOW ABOUT I TAKE YOU HOME?” we make eye contact again and it feels as if it’s only him and I in the club, the music is slowly fading. What is this feeling? I break eye contact again and pause to get ahold of myself. “HOW DO I KNOW YOU AREN’T ONE OF THE WIERD GUYS YOU WERE JUST TALKING s**t ON?” I ask with an awkward chuckle, laughing at this point he responds “I GUESS YOU’LL JUST HAVE TO TRUST ME.”
