STRETCH ME STEP-DADDY Chapter 1

1031 Words
Ava pulled into the parking lot of their building. The neighborhood was calm and quiet; only the roaring of her car engine could be heard. She killed the car engine but remained in the car. She stared at the house; it looked the same as when she had left it, and that was the main problem. Because the same means she gets to see him every day till summer ends. She wasn't even sure if she really could survive this summer. She sighed and came down from the car, moving to the trunk to take out her suitcase. She slammed the trunk in a soft thud. She was trying to be careful not to make noise, since it was already past midnight. Yes, midnight. She got on the way the moment she finished her final exams. Before she could step on the front porch, the doorknob twisted from inside; the door opened, revealing the one person she wanted to avoid: him. Her step-dad, James. Even in his early forties, he looked effortlessly breathtaking; his T-shirt clung to his broad shoulders like a second skin, revealing his veiny arms and flexed muscles. "Snap out of it, Ava." She shook her head before returning her gaze to him. "You are late." He said calmly. That voice, that damn low deep voice that does things to her, that same voice that makes her imagine things she shouldn't even be thinking of. Ava cleared her throat awkwardly, "Traffic." She lied smoothly. He stared at her for a beat before he finally stepped away from the doorway so she could enter. She kicked her sneakers away from her feet and slumped into the couch tiredly, her suitcase beside her. "Your mum is already asleep. She tried to wait up for you, but she has a flight to catch early tomorrow morning so..." James informed. "Alright," Ava muttered. She dragged herself up and headed to the kitchen to drink water; she was thirsty as f**k. He got to the kitchen before her, opened the refrigerator, grabbed a bottle of water and handed it to her. As she collected it, none of them pulled away hurriedly; the graze lingered for a few seconds before she finally withdrew her hand, uncapped the bottle and took a huge gulp. He leaned back on the counter, arms crossed over his chest. "You look... different." He said softly. "Different?" She frowned. He didn't answer immediately; his eyes swept over her body, from the cropped tank top that revealed her slender waist, to the tight demon shorts that accentuated her figure, down to her slender, long, straight legs, back to her brown hair tied in a messy bun...and his eyes settled on her lips, now wet from the water she just drank. He gulped, "Older." "I was also older last summer." She muttered. "Yeah," he said more like a whisper, "I noticed." He added. Ava dropped the bottle on the kitchen stool, her eyes still on him. The way he rested on the counter, the way his hips were pushed forward the.... "Get a grip, Ava." A voice screamed in her head, but she didn't look away. He pushed himself off the counter, walking towards her in slow, deliberate steps. He stopped in front of her; he was so close she had to tilt her head back to meet his gaze. She could feel his breath on her face. "You should get some sleep." He said softly. "I'm not tired." She replied. He didn't say a word; he leaned in closer, his eyes wandered back to her lips, cupped her cheeks "Ava." Ava's stomach did a weird flip; the way he called her name felt like a chant, the way his fingers held her cheek, his cologne filling her nose, everything was too much to take in. He leaned in closer and opened a cabinet behind her; their chest almost touched, his fingers brushed her waist accidentally, or what he wanted it to look like. She didn't pull away; she didn't push him away. He did it again, this time, gripping her waist firmly, his thumbs rubbing on the waistband of her shorts, and her skin slightly. "I've cleaned up your room..." He muttered, "I changed the sheets to clean ones too." He added, his grip getting tighter. "Thanks." She replied. Neither of them spoke nor moved, his hand still rubbing her waist, his breath still fanning her face. She thought he was going to kiss her; instead, he took a deep breath, withdrew his hands and stepped back. "I'll walk you up to your room." He said and walked out, grabbed her suitcase by the couch before she could utter a word and headed upstairs, while she followed behind him. He got to her doorstep; he dropped her bag before looking up at her. "Good night." He said. She didn't reply; she just stood rooted to the floor, staring at him. He moved closer, brushing a strand of hair away from her face; his hand lingered at the side of her neck longer than it should. He leaned in closer, tilting his head. She closed her eyes; she could feel his breath on her face again, their lips an inch apart. She could hear her own heartbeat in her ear with how loud it slammed against her ribs. He suddenly pulled away, cleared his throat, and avoided her gaze. "Good night, Ava." He repeated, and walked away, towards the master's bedroom, without looking back. She stood there, staring at his retreating figure until he disappeared completely into the room; the soft clicks of the door shutting behind him filled the hallway. She touched her waist, where he had placed his hand while playing with her waist and her cheeks, which he had cupped so tenderly; her neck, where his fingers were longer than necessary; her lips, just an inch from touching his... She now knew she wasn't the only one who felt the forbidden pull. She wasn't the only one who had those thoughts...she wasn't the only one who desired this sin.... And she knew he wasn't gonna hold back like he did today, and she was also ready ...to be ruined.
