Chapter Fifteen Abduction Except for the ashessé’s occasional change of posture, nothing moved on the empty street. There were few trees to attract wildlife, no gardens. Each house was much the same – flat topped, two story, butted up against its neighbor on one side and with a narrow alley on the other. Some roof-spaces were shared and sported colorful awnings, but the house Lucaät’s agent watched had no such enrichment.
