Duvät Gok Meets Inquisitor
The ashut players looked up as the door creaked open. Low light bled over the inquisitor’s thin features.
“What is it?” Lucaät snapped. “We’re trying to enjoy a game, here.”
The Agent looked up from the boards. This would be his third victory in a row. Perhaps he should let his boss win the next one, just to be on the safe side.
“He’s passed out again,” the inquisitor said.
“You haven’t killed him?”
“Not yet, my lord, no.”
“Probably wishes you had,” the Agent said cheerfully.
“What have you found?” Lucaät asked. “What’s he been hiding from me?”
“Eyes.” The inquisitor shrugged. “He found some creatures on that last planet – Went, they’re calling it – and he took their eyes.”
