Meet the Parents
Huldar strolled down the front steps of the Guild-Hall and took time to gather his thoughts. How quickly the afternoon had passed! Already, chains of crystal globes along the streets had begun to glow as the light-singers started their rounds. A cool breeze sifted some of the day’s heat from between the buildings, and the psychic buzz grew steadily as the disciplines of a day at work eased.
He felt calm but exhilarated after his meeting with Shamkarun Pieru. It had felt good to share his experiences on Went with someone who truly understood. He’d thought that the song he’d devised to hold open the gates of planetary Qalān would be foremost on the agenda, but Pieru had been far more excited to find another who was, as he put it, sacred to Leth.
