*Dimos* A silence follows my announcement. I'm grateful that before she can fill it with questions that I'm not ready to answer, the car comes to a stop. I shove open the door, leap out, and reach back to help her out… a small courtesy that a week ago, I couldn't have imagined myself doing for her. A week ago, I despised her. Now all I want is to bed her. To become so lost in her that I forget the harsh realities of my past, the dark path I have trodden in search of answers, not only about my father but about myself. Once inside the residence, I head into the parlor and straight for the scotch.
