Chapter FifteenThe Legionnaires stood at the opening of three of more than half a dozen tunnels leading into the darkness of the system of caves. Beside each Legionnaire stood one of the Liberators and, because there were not enough Liberators, Dravahl accompanied one as well. Each Liberator held a key to unlock the seclusionaries that secured the childfey they sought to rescue. The remaining Watchers had taken up positions just within the swirling shadows obscuring the entrance to the main cavern; awaiting the arrival of the guard change. As the Liberators set off down the network of tunnels, Dlalth horns serrated through the thin atmosphere. They were much closer than they had been just moments before and the Watchers glared at each other with unspoken trepidation. Time was running out.
