"s**t?! You are going to drive?! Why didn't you tell me. No this won't work, I'm going home." As soon as Eris found Faulty sitting comfortably on the driver's seat of her BMW, she panicked.
The woman with angelic face, doe eyes, upturned nose, and thin lips, may look so soft but she definitely is not when it comes to driving cars, that woman just loves to race so much and Eris hates it most especially when someone like Faulty gets provoke on the road, because hell may freeze, the woman won't back out and lose.
"Geez, Woman. Calm down. I got this. Everything is under control." Faulty said laughing opening the door for Eris.
Still hesitating but trust her best friend, Eris started to get on the car but before she could even sit comfortably she asked Faulty "Promise you wont go beyond the speed limit. Promise me, Faulty! I don't want to die young."
She chuckled hearing her best friend's remarks. "Come on, you are making it sound like I am worse than a lousy parker. Trust me on this okay?" Eris heaved a sigh and rolled her eyes. "Don't break my trust, and, only this time Faulty. I'm only letting you drive this time so, please drive like a girl."
Faulty smiled and told her friend to secure her buckle as they go for a drive. Halfway through the road to the famed bar that they'll be going, Eris received a message from her brother bombarding her questions, asking where she is. Really, the only moment she could live on her own without being watched right now is when he's brother is out of the country, on hectic schedule, or when she's out of the country. She can't blame his brother and Mom though, it's her fault that they're acting like she's some stupid teenager that needs supervision.
"Your kuya?" Faulty asked and chuckled, pertaining to the person messaging her as her phone ding after dings. Shaking her head.
"You know, I don't see one reason why you can't be civil with my Kuya. I mean, I get where you are coming from but, Faulty. It's been years." Eris said instead.
"Exactly. It's been years and your Kuya did not change a thing. He's still as annoying and irritating since day one. I still can't fathom how you became siblings when your literally an angel and he's a disguising devil." Faulty chuckled while driving.
"Still. You can't deny that my Kuya is not that bad. Let go and be friends or atleast be civil with him. I also think that you'd go together nicely if you set aside your prejudices, Faulty." It's not everyday that Eris tell her to be friends with her Kuya. In fact, in the three years Eris has talk to her about it twice, and adding today to the history, thrice.
Faulty smiled as she drive her car to park. She kept her promise to Eris and drive within the required speed limit. "Someday, Eris. That might happen." She said as they walk in to the bar.
Faulty is a frequent customer of the bar and friends with the owner, that's why they get in smoothly. Eris almost back out when she saw how crowded the bar is. She's been at the bars before but never was those bars as crowded as this.
"WAIT!" Eris was half-shouting, grabbing Faulty's arms as the ladder confidently step into the crowd.
"What?" She asks. She's in deliberate need of alcohol in her system right now. She's sad for some reason that she can't understand, she's mad. Maybe it's because it's the day. Maybe it's the memory.
"Have you inform Kuya about this?" She asked looking at her eyes, searching for answer. Faulty chuckled. "No, why would I?"
"Faulty..."
"Loosen up, will you. Come on!" She grabbed Eris by the wrist, diving into the crowd.
"Ah!"she dropped her glass after chugging her third shot of black label. Eris is baffled as to how Faulty and her found themselves sitting on the high chairs in the bar counter and the latter drinking as if it's her last. Eris has not even touched her shot of margarita yet thinking that she must be the sane one to check on her friend. What she did not see coming was that her friend getting her phone and posting on her SNS drunk and dumped. She only found out after her brother called her best friend's phone who's already drunk even before the clock strikes 12. Well, not that drunk really, but you can clearly see that the alcohol is already kicking.
"What?" She asked not even checking whoever calls her. She is sure that it's not her parents nor her brother's as they already checked on her before she lived the house to party.
"Where are you?" The person on the other line asked, a little irritated and worried.
"Why do you care? f**k off! I'm having fuuuuuuunn!" She intended to prolong the fun part as she wants him to know that she does.
"Where are you?" He repeated the question, mentally taking a note that the woman is probably with her sister and probably is drowning herself in alcohol because of today. How could he forgot to get her busy today, most especially today?
"Hmm"she hummed her answer and as she hear the first beat of her favorite song, she toss it to the person beside her and went to the dance floor. "This is my vibe, Ariana!" She shouted giggling, dancing like nobody cares. Forgetting that she's sad.
"Uhm, excuse me. That's my friends phone, I'm sorry." Eris said to the stranger, retrieving Faulty's phone.
"Eris, where are you? What's the name of the club?" He asked upon hearing his sister's voice from the other end. Eris immediately told him where and send him the location before ending the call and all the while was eyeing and getting to her best friend.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
"Where are you going? It's near midnight. You have photoshoots tomorrow, didn't you say?" Lawrence asked when he saw his friend getting his leather jacket and wallet in the round table of their sala.
"I need to pick her before she stir trouble." He answer immediately.
"Who? Faulty?" He ask though it's obvious.
"I have no other talent, Lawrence. Of course, it's her. Nothing can ever make my head ache than that woman. She'll kill me one day, I swear!" He yapped over. "I'm borrowing your car." He said and stop. "You are coming with me."
"Uhh...why?" He frowned. What does he have to do there? Watch them fall in love in drunken state.
"My sister's there. I need you to send her home safely and don't ever try to do something stupid with my sister, Lawrence." He warned and walked away, leaving the other no choice but to follow him.
"Damn that woman! How could she be so stubborn all the time? All the f*****g time!" He hissed while driving. The whole drive consisted of Nescire yapping over how Faulty makes his life very difficult and all the reasons why he should terminate her contract with him but as soon as they reach the bar, did not even wait him to get out of the car and just run to look for her. He really can't understand his friend. What's stopping him from dropping the woman?
They found her crying in the middle of the dance floor. It's hard not to notice when the woman is crouching on the floor and was wailing loudly, spewing curses after curses. A whole mess that she is. Looking so broken and hurt. Just like the very first time he met her.
And this. This is the reason why he refuse to terminate her contract with him.
