Zoe POV
I’m at the end of my first week rotation on the labor and delivery floor at the local teaching hospital and I have been elated with my experience thus far. I’ve held mothers’ hands through the highs and lows of their labor. I’ve talked them through when they felt like they couldn’t go on another minute. I was fortunate enough to help deliver seven babies this week. I finally have a feeling that I am right where I belong. I smile to myself as I pack my bag to leave for the day. I turn around to see Martha the head nurse walking towards me.
“Oh, Zoe, I’m glad I caught you. It seems you have made quite an impression this week. Several of the doctors have requested that you remain here for the remainder of your rounds. How do you feel about that?”
