Veronica's POV
I stand in my room all decked out for prom. For a minute I consider not going but then I know I have to do this. And I won't be alone.
The doorbell rings downstairs and I smile. I pick up my bag and rush down as fast as I can without seeming too hurried.
As I come down the stairs, I see my dad standing right in front of Daniel.
I thought he would be gone by now on one of his trips or would have at least gone to the hospital.
I wonder why he stayed home
