FOUR
The sensation was quite weird, passing through the green crack was a totally awkward experience, the compressing sensation he felt in his stomach made him want to empty his guts, what was that, some sort of time travel?, All these raced towards Jay’s mind as he stepped into the other side, the sight on the other side was magnificent, it was as though what he saw made him momentarily forget the nauseating sensation he felt.
‘Welcome to Precious Haven’ Mia said as she led Jay onward. The sky was a bright grey color, with well cut out landscapes, the peak of tall buildings graced the grey sky, The atmosphere was out of this world, it gave him goosebumps, as they made their way to the heart of the city, Jay could see people training, some looked his age, while others were older, getting close into the city, smaller buildings could be seen, with each having a different mark on its walls, he recognized them to be ‘sigils’ he had seen similar markings on Jakes hands at the alleyway. Crown citadel was the buzz of precious haven it was where the ruling elites came for the business of the day, it was like the white house of precious haven. Passing through the glass encrusted walls, the band of five were met by tall men that were positioned at each entrance, in their hands were held long silver spears, but the tip seemed to be made of a glassy material, ‘Could it be diamonds’ ? Jay thought to himself, the sentries wore a long black jacket similar to what Jake wore, but with a gold band around their waist, on the band s were drawn various symbols, their chest was bare as no clothing covered them, and they wore long pants, each of them showed no expression, a blankness covered them, from their looks they were built for the kill. Their little tour was halted as they approached a wide double door entrance, the width was enormous, it had some colorful stones on it, from the top of the door could be seen drawings, as though it told a story, winged men could be seen falling from the clouds as blasts of fire rained down on them, a sword protrudes through the clouds but its wielder seemed to be covered by the clouds. As Jay admired this painting on the door, a burning sigil appears that parts the door open, they make their way through into what looked like a hall with a single chair at the end of the hall, the room was quite empty but for sigils drawn on the floor and flowers that covered the windows giving the room a gloomy appearance, the only light source were long stands holding tall candles that were flanked on the left and right side of the chair, four on each side, above the chair were three symbols that seemed to complement each other as though each was half of a broken piece.
Suddenly the air felt cold, a hissing sound was heard as though something was being torn apart, out of thin air a tall figure emerged, standing by the chair, the man was casually dressed with blue pants and a gray shirt, he seemed to have stepped out of a sigil , for a moment the light from the sigil illuminated the room then was extinguished as the man steps out completely, from his looks he seemed to be in his late forties, he was well built with a rather long beard, his hair was parted in the middle as they dangled from behind, they were a jet black color.
‘No council is to take place today, why do you interrupt? ‘ the man spoke as his voice filled the room, he said this very casually as though he was being disturbed. ‘ High rector, we established two sightings of the forbidden, a hell hound and a Niglar.
‘Hell hound ? Jay thought to himself, Yes that’s what they fought at the alleyway, but what did Mia mean by a ‘Niglar’. The countenance on the man’s face took a stern look,.
‘Niglar you say, one of those has not been seen in at least a century…by the way who is this with you, I remember sending out only four of you, from where has he come, a new recruit, I suppose’ the man said as he locked his gaze on Jay. Cold chills ran down Jay’s body as he tried looking away.
‘He is Jay Garrick Sanders, a Lukai from New York city, Mia said in a rather shaky voice tone.
‘Lukai ! you dare bring a whole mortal to our abode, Mia ! . ‘He could see us through the mist’ Esme intervened .
‘There’s more, he had a release during the fight with the Hell hound’ Mia said .
‘A release you say, look at me young man, tell me from which Nephilim kingdom do you procede, who are your progenitors? . Jay could not fathom the questions he asked, what was all this talk about a release, progenitors, what does he even mean, what does all this even mean? The man looked more intently at Jay, as though he were some rare specimen, he waved his hand lackadaisically at Jay, and a bright light encompassed him, strange symbols appeared in front of Jay, they made him a bit dizzy, afterwards the man quickly released his hands as though he encountered a needle prick.
‘High rector…..’ ‘Percival Mia, Percival will just do, I’m not in regalia, he says. He snaps his finger and the doors fling open swiftly, the two of the armed men come in and give a slight bow. What happened next was not expected, the cell was dark and gloomy, the walls had crevices as though insects borough to make pathways on them, it reeked of a hellish stench, and the heat inside made my throat parched, I was right not to trust them, look how far they’ve brought me, it was a trap all along, I just want my family back and nothing more. All these thoughts raced through Jay’s mind as he lay on the floor of the light proof cell he was thrown into, it happened so fast, one minute the men came in, the next thing, he finds himself here and Mia...his thought process was halted as the little opening on the door was slide open.
‘It isn’t what you think Jay, I’ll get you out of here I promise, trust me’ Mia said,
‘It’s trusting you that got me here in the first place, remember when we were about coming through the crack, who’s to say you guys don’t have my family too, are we some lab project? Jay fired back at Mia in an angry tone, but the more he shouted, he felt himself getting extremely weak by the minute, the weaker he got, the once dark cell gave a faint dim green glow, he slumped and passed out.
‘Percival please you have to consider, he’s not a threat of any kind? Mia said as she follows him around the city, Percival is seen signing some scrolls and parchment as they both entered the ancestral halls, sculptors of giant men dressed in ancient roman attire are flanked left and right forming a central isle.
‘Mia, I cannot set him free, No not yet, when I examined his last release there was something off about it, a sensation I haven’t felt since the last assault’ Percival said as he’s expression tightened.
‘What did you feel, what is it….?granted I know he could see us but according to the Azazelian legend, some lukai can be gifted with the de-mystifying sight, we can take care of that if that’s the issue’, Mia said as she tried convincing Percival.
‘Baiku essence Mia, Baiku essence, I felt that exude from him during the examination of his release, and no nephilim should have that. Saying this a burning sigil sizzled in mid- air and he walked right through it, leaving Mia perplexed and speechless.
