Strange flashes of the encounter with the hound flashed through his mind in an unconscious state. Suddenly a familiar smell of burnt bacon wake’s him up, it was aunt Shalar’s cooking as usual so he rushed down stairs to get his share before he eats left overs again, as he sees Mia, this sends shivers down his spine and makes him freeze for a couple of seconds for sure he knew it wasn’t a dream.
‘Garrick what the hell are you doing standing over their come eat your bloody breakfast….and also there is a young lady asking for you she claims to be your friend from school’ and be careful there are some pieces of broken window glass on the floor, it seems like the wind last night was something else’ said aunt Shalar.
‘Aunt I think am pretty late for school already’ as Jay grabs his bag for school still looking surprised over Mia’s presence the school bus finally arrived as he makes his way to the porch .
‘What they hell were you doing in my house, you got a lot of nerve coming here after last night’ said Jay.
‘Shut up…ever wondered how you got back on your bed so you’re that clueless huh? Said Mia.
‘I thought you passed out plus aren’t you the magic warrior who’s meant to fight whatever that was’
‘That was a hell hound plus I wasn’t completely unconscious… carrying you back to your room was work my back hurts so stop nagging’
‘Well you looked pretty unconscious to me, anyway aren’t you supposed to go back with your friends from where ever you came from’
‘We’re not done pretty boy, meet after school then we do the real talking at JOE’S CAFÉ…. After all I got classes to attend’ said Mia
‘Classes?....... you don’t even go to this school!!’ said Jay. As Mia continues through the school isle to his greatest surprise it seemed to him that people knew her as if she had been here long before him while he just got here some days back.
‘As the classes for the day kept coming Jay’s attention waivered towards them he had many questions in his mind about what he saw , where she came from?.
Ed approaches and snaps him out of his deep thought, ‘Dude I hope you’re not having a hangover I know Billy’s party can be pretty rough but you will get the hang of it here take this, just take a sip and the hangover will go away is something me and guys cooked up is called the ‘‘ROVER’’ after Grover me of course but am not taking all the glory or anything just try bro….and also bro there is football try outs going on for the new beeies hope you’re gonna show up it’s pretty cool you know get to know some ladies’
‘Whatever I will try, dude give the rover I need it for the s**t am gonna hear today’ as jay takes a sip
‘hmm pretty tasty dude thanks’ said Jay.
The day had ended Jay pretty much knew where to go next as he walked into Joe’s café he sighted Mia sitting with the people he recognized, they were the same weirdos he saw fighting that thing in the alley so he went to confront them.
‘I’m here now, so what’s your deal ‘said Jay.
‘First let us introduce ourselves I’m Mia, the dark girl is Esme and the chinese boy giving you the stink eye is Renny’ said Mia.
‘What the hell Mia, you’re giving our names to strangers now’
‘Pipe down and that’s Jake , I still wonder how you saw us and the hell hound you’re not normal as you claim to be i could have wiped your memories that night ….but the thing is I saw what you did to the hell hound you don’t belong here plus I have never seen a late bloomer before in your case I think that’s an exception’ said Mia.
‘An exception really you guys are something else for sure, I don’t know what you’re talking about but I just came here looking for answers about last night how I got in the middle of all this cos I believe everything has an explanation maybe you guys are some sort of runaway experiments trying to have some hero complex but that doesn’t mean you guys should drag me into your looney world, I got a life to live’ said Jay.
‘Well from the look in your eyes you didn’t come all the way here to tell us to bug off, did you? You remembered what happened that night and I know you’re looking for answers anyways let’s cut to the chase, we’re nephilims half humans combined with angelic energies our mission is to protect the LUKAI that’s humans, from the BAALKU they demon clan we were sent here to investigate the abnormal pop ups of demons in New york hence we met you’ said Mia.
‘Nephilims…so that’s what you guys are, not some abnormal Russian mutant spies’ said Jay.
‘Enough talk let’s bring him in’ said Jake
‘What the heck bring me in for what, see guys i appreciate the info but I need to go home and process this’ Jay stands to leave as Jake grips his hand.
‘His gonna start blabbing Mia and expose us’ said Jake.
‘C’mon Jake let him go besides who would believe him’ he then quickly removes his hand from Jake’s grip and heads home, as he arrived home he noticed a strange dog barking behind his backyard that seemed off to Jay but after what he heard today that was the least of his problems. On his way to the kitchen to grab a soda he began to hear two voices coming from the kitchen one was unfamiliar to him so he guessed it was her motorcycle boyfriend which she invited over so he went to confront them to his greatest surprise it was only aunt Shalar that was in the kitchen this gave him a blank expression.
‘Aunt were you answering a call ‘
‘Yeah i was, why do you look so tensed?’ said aunt Shalar.
‘Sorry aunt it was almost like someone was with you in the kitchen’
‘What took you so long’ said aunt Shalar.
‘Yeah i was at Joe’s café with some friends’
‘Friends huh….i didn’t know you had friends, tell me Jay did they tell you anything strange like a book or something’ said aunt Shalar.
‘No aunt not really and why all this questions it’s getting weird’ said Jay.
‘C’mon Jay don’t make it harder that it looks tell me where is ALEXANDER’S GRIMOIRE make this quick’ immediately the kitchen doors and windows shot tight. This gave Jay a shocked expression.
‘Aunt where is Carly and mum’ asked Jay.
‘Carly and your mum went on a long trip’ the kitchen lights began to flicker.
‘What the heck are you saying aunt’ as Jay begins to step backwards.
‘For one I’m not your bloody aunt’ she said with a whole new different voice with eyes that were pitch black as she held Jay in the air and sent him flying through the kitchen door into the sitting room as he tried to crawl for safety, objects in the sitting room began to fly and smash into different parts of the house as Jay laid low on the ground to save himself.
She asked the strange question again ‘where is the grimoire?’. As Jay raised his hand to save himself from her and the flying objects a bright light shown and scattered the sitting room door, it was Mia and her friends.
‘They Calvary has arrived’ said Mia. With a sign of relief in Jay’s eyes immediately Ren hits his palm on the wall as a strange sigil appeared,
‘Leave witch this is a binding spell or else you want to be slaughtered here’ said Mia. From aunt Shalar’s expression she knew that she was out numbered as she looked at Jay;
‘Half-breeds till we meet again’ as flames circled her and she disappeared into thin air making all the objects to fall back on the ground.
‘Jay it isn’t safe here anymore you need to come with us’ said Mia
‘My family… I can’t just leave them I need to find them’
‘Well not here farm boy’ said Jake.
‘But to where…’ said Jay
‘‘PRECIOUS HAVEN ’’ suddenly a green light appeared which turned into a crack in thin air.
‘C’mon let’s go’ said Jake as he walked into it same as Esme and Ren,
‘We need to get going trust me it’s safe’ said Mia as Jay looked into her eyes, trust is a strong word as he went through followed by Mia.
