Chapter 2 - Where did the time go?

It was tomorrow, and they didn’t specify what time so I am deciding when to go. It was 1:00 PM when I went to the address.

I went to the address expecting a dingy crap hole. But, when I got there it was a prestige-looking laboratory. I walked into the building and there was a lobby, I had to check-in too. “I was called yesterday, and was told that I should come here.”

“Name?” The strange-looking secretary asked, he looked as if he was twenty but sixty at the same time, greying in the hair however young in the face.

“Nora Eady” I responded, he looked surprised when I said this. I guess my arrival was important. In a low voice, he spoke into a walkie-talkie-looking object. Some important people came out of two metal doors, and they directed me to a similarly important room.

There was a large ceiling fan that had an annoying buzzing sound. I found myself fixating on the noise, probably because I was in a plain white room. There were scientists everywhere, arguing and making soft noises that I can only guess were words.

Finally, a lab coat-wearing person came over and talked to me about why I am here. “We put together the names of people who are detectives, and randomized it” “You were the one randomized.”

“What type of experiment?”

“A time-traveling experiment” I was very alarmed, I was pretty sure that time travel wasn’t possible.

“I can see that you are in distress about the idea of time travel, but this can help a lot of people.” The scientist assured me. “My name is also Dr. Chidubem.” I have met the head honcho of the lab, Dr. Chidubem she seems very serious about time-traveling

“Look, it is your choice, we are not going to force you into anything” she reassured me.

I went back to my house to evaluate the situation. It seems like an easy question to answer. Do you time travel, or do you not. Time travel could be dangerous, they might’ve not tested time-traveling. There are multiple reasons why time-traveling isn’t a great idea.

There are also reasons why time travel is a good idea, like that it is cool. That it can be important for a lot of people, which no one has explained to me about, how can it be beneficial? Anyways, it is a difficult question to answer. A lot of reasons why I shouldn’t time travel . . . . Who am I kidding? I am going to time travel.
