Chapter Eighty Six

It’s my last day before I head back to Maine, and for some reason, I’m not as happy about it as I thought I would be. A strange, heavy restlessness settles in my chest as I roll out of bed. Sitting on the edge of the mattress, I run my fingers through my messy hair, combing through the few tangles, before I grab a pair of sweatpants from the chair in the corner, and pull them on. Picking up my cell, I head toward the bedroom door and step out into the quiet hallway. Mum’s door is already wide open. A quick glance at my phone, confirms that it’s barely eight am, looks like mum’s rare lie ins are officially over.
