The screams signal the arrival of the werewolves. Soraya is suddenly beside me, grabbing at my hand. "Run!" She shouts as the crowd pushes and shoves us. It's an effort to remain on my feet as the sounds of explosions ring in my ears. More sound further away. It's doubtful that the werewolves would blow up their own city and so I'm left thinking that the explosions around the city are to create a diversion, splitting the werewolves' attention and allowing as many humans to escape as possible through the many alleyways leading from the courtyard.
