::Sarah's POV::
I know that I was alive, but I bitterly wanted to stay asleep. I didn't want to dream what I had earlier, but I know there was nothing good left for me in the world.
All of a sudden I felt a nudge on my rib, which was still in pain from the surgery.
''Wake up already!'' an impatient tone sounded off.
I guess he knew I was trying to fake sleep it off, but I still didn't know who this person was! My eyes involuntarily obeyed and as my vision cleared my voice was trapped inside my throat.
There was a silhouette that soon turned into a man, a man that possessed a Greek god's figure. His stubbles ran perfectly on his chiseled jaw line. His skin, silked in a perfect shade of chocolate. And his eyes, red as roses and blood.
''Wh-,'' I couldn't speak! Because what my eyes cut me off as I witnessed something else!
His shoulder blades had wings sprouted from his back! Not just any wings, but ones similar to a bat! My heart paced with extreme discomfort, it was confused whether to be scared, or angry. But, one thing was for sure, I felt like I didn't like him.
''Had your sleeping beauty much?'' he folded those ripped forearms in a knot.
My mouth dropped to talk, but he stopped me, ''well considering how ugly you are you definitely need eternal sleep.''
What the f**k?
He chuckled to himself and that was way too familiar.
''You're the voice I heard?!'' I narrowed my eyes at him.
''The one and only, Trey in the flesh.'' Trey introduced himself.
I tried to fight my exhaustion to give him a piece of my mind, but he then c****d a smile and stared into my eyes.
''Why you hitting yourself?''
And with that, my own hands began to tremble and soon slapped me across my face. It wasn't as harsh, but it pissed me off even more. I tried to control myself, but I failed as he kept repeating the same thing.
''Stop hitting yourself.'' he scoffed and laughed at me.
''Stop!'' I demanded, my voice seemed to weaken his commands.
He then leaned against a wall and refolded his arms, ''Seems like you're no pushover after all.''
What did he mean by that? I couldn't comprehend what he just did, but I am pretty sure I was a pushover most of my life. This caused my face to drop to the floor.
''Oh, honey... don't worry, I already know you're pathetic.'' as if he read my mind.
My attention shut up to him, he was incredibly gorgeous, but his physical beauty did not match his dark soul!
''Are you going to tell me your name?'' he sounded like he did not ask.
To avoid further self humiliation I had to say something, ''Cristina.''
He lifted an eyebrow at me and then scoffed again. I swear the amount of times he was scoffing was like a freaking cat trying to get rid of a hairball.
''I read that tomb stone it said Sarah. You could have at least used the other pretty girl's name if you were gonna lie.'' he cracked himself up.
My jaws clenched as well as my fist. It did sting a little that he had called Megan pretty, but the fact he already knew who I was, was something that bothered me even more.
''So as I said in your dreams, you aren't dead. A thank you would be nice for your savior.'' he gestured an arm from his fold.
''Why would I do that?'' I spitefully asked. No, really, why would I do that? I should have died.
''So not are you only ugly, but you're also ungrateful. Seems like I have one cut out for me.'' he twitched an unpleasant grin.
I kept focusing on his wings! It was black, leathery, and foreign.
''Oh these?'' he threw a look back to his wings, ''Thanks to these babies I was able to save you.''
''Why?'' was all I could ask for now.
''Because like I said. You're my favorite drama series right now.'' he began to walk to another wall.
I had no idea what he was talking about, and seeing me clueless his tone became impatient.
''I'm a f*****g vampire, I just fed on you and relived your memories.'' his eyes clearly upset with me.
A f*****g vampire? No Way! They no longer existed!
''What? Did you think you puppies could actually kill us off? We been wandering in plain sight for centuries.'' he looked away.
''Vampire?'' I tried to scan him again, even cleared my eyes as I was in disbelief.
''By the way, you're such a fatass, I almost choked on all that cholesterol you were building up.'' he teased.
His sass was something else, it wasn't like Adam's where his accent was that of a gay man. This dude literally said it with a deep masculine tone. Not monotone, but this was severely different.
But he kept poking at me with insults. For god know why! Yes I did eat a lot, but I'm not fat I was-
I was pregnant.
My lips rumbled pursed up together as I regained the memory of losing my unborn child. My eyes slowly blinked a tear drop.
''Whoah whoah whoah.'' he waved both of his hands at me, ''Don't be crying now. your role isn't fulfilled yet.''
''Fulfilled for what? Your entertainment? I don't even know you or your intentions. And since you say you've seen my life then you should know why I do not trust you at all!'' I spat.
I received no mercy, this man rolled his eyes at me and then told me, ''You wolves live for a limited time, us vampires live centuries. You don't know what pain is.''
He continued, ''And for the record... you did admit you're selfish on your own, you have to be more considerate about others.''
What was he? My mom?
''Oh, honey. Not even your mom can tell you what to do.''
I swear to the moon goddess, I felt more tears swelling in my eyes. I hated that he knew what to say to trigger my reactions, but he wasn't even sorry about it.
''The way I've seen things, is when you go through enough of it, you get numb and forget how it feels.''
Was he subliminally giving me advice?
''Why am I here?'' I looked around for an escape.
''I don't like repeating myself.'' he grew a bored expression, ''But I feel like you need my help.''
''What do you mean I need your help? I don't!'' I denied.
I saw a door that was half closed and marched towards it, Trey did not follow me, instead watched with a predictable amusement expression. I didn't care.
But I couldn't deny that I did after I stepped out of it!
I was on a very small ledge that had a familiar updraft from the depths below. Flashes of my decision earlier raced through my mind, but this time I just couldn't do it.
''Enjoying the view?'' Trey was now leaning at his door frame.
My instincts went into a frenzy, I was isolated, with a vampire who knew everything about me, but I knew nothing of him. I was in an unknown place with no escape. My eyes widened.
Was he going to hurt me? Kill me? rape me?
''Don't be getting no assumptions about me raping you. You're definitely not my type sweetie.''
And he can read my mind?!
''This is bullshit!'' I tried to lever myself onto the rigid cliff, but my strength had not returned to me. My body was heavy, and it looked like an extremely long way to the top.
''Typical werewolves.'' he approached me, ''Too prideful to accept the fact that they need help.''
He grabbed me from under my arm pits like some puppy and flapped his massive wings back into his den.
He flung me into a couch and I tried to make a run for it. With a flick of his index finger my only escape closed and locked immediately.
What was this magic?
''It's called vampirism, or if you want me to dumb it down for you... vampire superpowers.'' he exaggerated with spirit fingers.
''So you used your powers on me?'' I didn't need him to answer that.
''Obviously, but I am intrigued you were able to break out of it.''
''Huh?'' I shook my head in confusion.
''For all my living of 500 years I had never encountered a prey that could break out of my spells.'' he rubbed his chin with his index.
What the hell is going on?!
I could feel myself wanting to rip my hair out, this was too much, and too sudden!
''The fact that you did it without your wolf too.'' he began to ponder, ''Now that was something else.''
His tone had a slight hint of impressiveness, but that was none of my concern.
''How is it... that you still have the powers of a werewolf without you having your wolf?'' he asked curiously.
Like how was I supposed to answer to that? I sat there looking like a complete bafoon.
''Like I said,'' he paused. Then his tone heated up, ''I hate repeating myself!'' he then calmed down, ''But you're basically my new experience.''
''I am not your little experiment!'' I argued.
''Nah, that's not it.'' he then tensed his focus on me.
''One of your memories definitely peaked my interest.'' he stalked closer to me.
I knew I had no way of over powering him, so I sat there but with a flagged warning in case he tried something. As he got close to me, he bent down and whispered into my ear, ''Your mate.''
What of my mate?! My chest started to heave. Accusations and assumptions began to grind into my mind. I could feel myself growing more rigid as I realized he was talking about Drake.
''Chill,'' he straightened himself up.
''He's not my type either.'' he said as if trying to reassure me.
I still stood my stance, sitting, but still... I didn't like what he was saying since he had opened his damn mouth.
Seeing how he failed once again to get through to me he literally facepalmed himself. The smack was so obvious I myself had calmed down.
''The f*****g handcuffs you moron!'' he flung his forearms forward.
''Oh my god woman!'' he scratched his head and stormed away.
The handcuffs? The one the king had used to keep him captive? What did he possibly want with tha-
Then it hit me like a deer to head lights. The king had mentioned that it possessed a vampires spell and power. Was that what Trey was going on about?
''I don't know the faces of those in your memories, but that trinket definitely does not belong in the hands of a mutt-wolf.'' it seemed to piss him off.
''Why's it important to you? You seem to have powers beyond it.'' I muttered underneath my breath.
''Oh? Are you recognizing my superiority?'' he flexed. His muscles bulged as big as his ego. Then after he had his moment of taunt he then shot me with a straight face, ''Because that handcuff belonged to me.''
