Death Apocalypse

Episode 4

Manav was now standing on the roof and was trying to find out a way to reach Tanisha's house.

He saw that many zombies were swarming the streets. He then jumped on his neighbor's roof. He then tried to jump on another roof but he slept and fell down in the lawn. Zombies heard this and started running towards him. The soil in the lawn was moist so he didn't get hurt much but still had some difficulty in walking. He somehow jumped the boundary and fell in an alley. The zombies were still behind him. He somehow stood up and started running. He was running while limping. The zombies were about to catch up but suddenly a car stopped at the end of the alley. The door opened and a girl with long black hair wearing a black leather jacket and jeans signed him to get inside the car.

"Come on, hurry up," she said.

He jumped in and the girl moved the car. The door was still open and a zombie was holding it and was running with the car. Manav catched a breath and noticed that his head was on the girl's lap. He immediately sat up. The girl was looking at the front but was smiling. She changed the gear and increased the speed. The zombie was now sliding on the road. Suddenly, the handle broke and the zombie was left lying there on the road. Manav looked behind and sighed with relief. He looked at the girl from up to down, or you could say he scanned her.

" Damn, she's so hot... but who's she? "

"Your eyes may pop out if you look at me like this for few more seconds," she said.

Manav got a bit embarrassed.

"Thank you for saving me. "

"Who are you and what were you doing outside?"

Manav then told her everything.

"So, your name is Manav and you are out to save your girl from these creatures. How romantic."

"Tell me about yourself now."

"My name is Monica and I am a prostitute."

She looked at Manav.

"You are judging me, right?" she said.

"Ah, no, no, that's not it. I was just thinking that..."

"Thinking what?"

"That what conditions made you choose this path."

"Hm, not everyone's life is the same. My father is the rich businessman Rudra Sinha. My mother worked in a five-star hotel. He one day saw her and trapped her in a fake relationship. After a year, I was born and my father denied to accept me and my mother. She went to many people for justice but it was all in vain. She was kicked out from the job and her image got tarnished. No one gave even a job to her. Few years passed by..."

Manav was looking at her and saw that her eyes were teary.

"It's okay, you don't need to remember your disturbing past for me."

"I don't care about that now. That was past."

"But now I remember... You just said the name Rudra Sinha... Isn't he the same businessman whose body was found in the Yamuna river."

"Yes, he is. I don't know how he died nor I care about that. But that bastard deserved that."

Manav didn't say anything.

"Just take a right turn and then a left turn, we'll reach her house," he said.

"Okay. "

Just like he instructed, she took a right turn and then a left turn. The car was moving on the road but suddenly she pushed the break with full force. Manav almost banged his head on the front glass.

"What the fu..."

He suddenly saw a swarm of zombies in front of him.

"Where did they come from!?"

"Put your seat belt on. We'll get past through them."

Manav understood what she was about to do. So, he put the seat belt on. She then moved the car with full speed. Many zombies were flying here and there and many got crushed under the car. Somehow, they got past through them. Many zombies were running and following them but they were not fast enough.

"There it is," he said while pointing at a house.

She stopped the car. He was about to open the door.

"Wait! ", she said.

"What happened? "

"Isn't this strange? "

"What do you mean? "

"There isn't a single zombie near the house. Didn't she say that the zombies swarmed her house?"

Manav too thought this as strange but he was more focused on rescuing Tanisha.

"They get attracted towards movement, light and sound. So, it could be that the zombies must have heard or saw something and ran behind it."

He was saying all this based on the zombies which killed him. He didn't know if these zombies were the same as those.

"You might be right. But still... be careful. I am waiting for you here."

"Okay."

He then moved out of the car. He was still limping while walking. He slowly walked inside the gate and saw that the main door was open. He entered the door quietly. There was blood everywhere. He then walked upstairs and saw a room whose door was closed. He banged the door slowly.

"Tanisha? Are you there? It's me, Manav."

"Manav? Are you really Manav?"

He heard her voice and got relieved that she was okay.

"Yes, open the door. I am here to rescue you."

She opened the door and saw Manav standing there. She then hugged him tightly and started crying.

"I was so scared... I thought... I thought I would die," she said.

"It's okay. I am here now, nothing can harm you now."

They both looked in each other's eyes and moved their heads slowly towards each other. Their lips were about to meet but Manav put his hand on her mouth.

"Now's not the time. We need to get out of here first."

They then walked downstairs. She noticed him limping.

"What happened to your leg?"

"Nothing, just fell from somewhere."

"Are you okay? Is it hurting?"

"Not much."

As they were about to move out of the door, they saw a zombie standing in front of them. It was groaning in a low voice. They got freezed. The zombie stood there for a while. It then sniffed around the air and suddenly, it started running towards them. They got scared and were about to run but suddenly they heard a gunshot and the zombie fell down. They didn't understand what happened. Manav then saw Monica standing with a revolver in her hand.
