Episode2:Humiliated Before the Pack

445 Words
The next morning, the whispers of the previous night still haunted me. Everywhere I went in the pack, eyes followed me — some full of pity, others dripping with mockery. Clara was waiting. Of course she was. “Oh, look who’s alive,” she sneered, stepping in front of me. “I hope you slept well after your… big embarrassment.” My heart pounded, but I refused to give her the satisfaction of a response. I looked straight ahead and kept walking, though my wolf throbbed angrily inside me. The pack council was meeting today, and I had no choice but to attend. Every step felt heavier than the last, my humiliation burning hotter with every whispered snicker behind me. Alpha Kael entered the room, and the entire council fell silent. My stomach twisted at the sight of him — tall, commanding, and utterly untouchable. He didn’t look at me, but I knew he could sense my presence. Wolves never forget the scent of their fated mate, and I was no exception. The meeting dragged on. I barely listened, my mind consumed with the memory of last night. How could he reject me? Me? Suddenly, a sharp voice cut through the room. “Perhaps the pack would benefit more if weaklings like Storm stayed out of important meetings,” Clara whispered loudly, ensuring the Alpha could hear. The room went still. My cheeks burned red, but something inside me snapped. “I may be underestimated now,” I said quietly, my voice carrying more than I intended. “But one day, you’ll all see that even the smallest wolf can shake the strongest pack.” A few eyes widened. Clara smirked, as if enjoying the tension I’d created. Alpha Kael, however, said nothing. His silence felt heavier than his rejection. That night, I left my family’s small den and wandered the forest alone. My wolf howled in anguish, echoing my own pain. I didn’t know where I was going, only that I needed to escape the pack and think. As the moon climbed high, a soft rustle in the bushes caught my attention. A stranger’s silhouette appeared, eyes glowing faintly in the moonlight. “You don’t belong here,” a voice said, calm but firm. I froze. Who… what was this? Before I could react, the figure stepped closer, revealing a wolf unlike any I’d ever seen. Bigger, stronger, and… powerful. “You think the pack’s rejection defines you?” the stranger asked. “It’s only the beginning. If you survive, you’ll be unstoppable.” My heart raced. Something told me my life was about to change, but I had no idea just how much.
