My brain was playing a game of tug of war deciding whether to laugh or cry at the amount of stupid men in this mansion. These were supposed to be quick thinking, powerful, and slick leaders. They were believed to be one of the toughest and most respected packs in the country, but that was a joke. These werewolves were not the mighty, fearless warriors they were made out to be. They were very gullible and easy to manipulate.
I had done my research on them before Alessandro even realized I existed. I purposely picked the apartment I rented knowing it was in a town close enough to his pack house. We were bound to cross paths sooner or later, but becoming his mate was just the ultimate coincidence.
I knew what I was. It was a blessing and a curse. Pure evil ran through my blood. My genes gave me striking and alluring looks which brought attention to my direction at every turn whether good or bad. I always thought it was a burden until I began using it to my advantage without remorse. It pleased the evil spirit in me. It even made me stronger.
A laugh escaped me as I walked down the halls thinking about my encounter with Roman. He sure was credulous to say the least. It was shocking how willing he was to betray his best friend and Alpha over a little dispute. It wasn't as shocking to find out he wanted to steal me from him, but it was definitely bold of him to go for that kiss. Messing with his mind to do whatever I wanted was going to be a piece of cake.
As I roamed the halls on each floor, I kept a cool, calm demeanor as I memorized every door I came across. Each guard and maid I passed seemed to squirm unsure of how to react to my presence, but ultimately bowed their heads in respect and cleared the way for me with smiles on their face. I crept up a few voices that were gossiping in one of the rooms ahead of me so I kept quiet and listened in.
"I'm telling you guys, he's scarier than when he took the Alpha position away from his dad," a female voice declared. I assumed she spoke of Alessandro. That rang a curious bell. I made note to bring that up next time I was with him.
"I don't believe that. He had to do what he had to back then. He's not like that anymore. He's changed into a sweet, powerful leader," another female's voice stated. It sounded vaguely familiar, but I didn't put much thought into it.
"That's what I thought too, but I was right there," the first woman said. "He pulled Evelyn by the hair and shoved her to the floor. Then he yelled at her so hard she hasn't been able to stop crying since!"
"I don't know," a third woman announced. "That just doesn't sound like the Alpha we know."
"I bet our new little Luna has something to do with it," the second voice spoke again. "He's always been assertive and tough, but he was not like this before she came along."
I wanted to burst out into laughter. If only they knew he made those choices all on his own. I couldn't take credit for his behavior.
"Yeah. I can't believe we even have to call a human being our Luna," the third scoffed.
"Well actually," the first voice began, "I heard she was kidnapped! The girls that did their nails said that's what she told Bianca. Of course, Bianca didn't believe her, but they think she was being serious."
A moment of silence passed before laughter erupted in the room. "Please! Like my Alessandro would ever have to kidnap anybody, especially not some human."
I smirked hearing her addressing him as hers. The poor girl must've been in love with him and couldn't handle the rejection. She sounded extremely bitter. I decided to have some fun of my own and exposed myself walking into the room and closing the door behind me. All of their faces dropped with confusion, envy, and aggravation. There was a maid and two of the bickering women from the party. I remembered hearing their catty remarks. It made sense they were the ones being spiteful now.
The room appeared like most of the others. It was large and bright decorated with high end furniture, although this room had a more comfortable and relaxing feel to it. I sat on a love seat closer to the three women and smiled. "What are we talking about, ladies?"
The red head's face scrunched up in disgust. "What do you think you're doing here?"
"Amy!" her friend exclaimed. "You can't talk to her like that. What if Alessandro finds out?"
"Yeah, Amy," I retorted relaxing on the seat. "You can't talk to your Luna like that."
That made her angrier. "You are not my Luna you weak, subpar human!"
"Ouch!" I said with a laugh. "Was that supposed to be offensive?"
"Look, Luna," her friend chimed in. "We don't mean to start any trouble. Alpha Alessandro doesn't need to know about any-"
"Shut up, Natasha! He's not going to find out anything because she's going to keep her mouth closed, right?" she turned to me c*****g her head to the side.
I smirked at her. "What if I don't?"
"Just because Alessandro chose you, doesn't make you special. We're werewolves. Do you have any idea what we can do to you?"
"Not a damn thing," I chuckled. "And I don't like being threatened so you might want to control your jealousy."
She snorted. "Jealous of you? You've got to be kidding me! Get out before I throw you out."
I warned her. "How are you going to do that when you're choking?"
She looked at me as if I was crazy. "What? I'm not chok-" Her eyes widened and she began gasping for air. Her hands reached for her throat, but there was nothing there.
"Amy!" Natasha shouted in disbelief. "Your eyes..." she said looking at me confused. "What's did you do to her?"
"Me? A weak, subpar human? How could I possibly do that?" Another smirked appeared on my lips.
"I'll get the medic," the maid announced as she watched in horror.
"You will sit down!" I ordered her.
Her bottom planted on the nearest chair and her face turned pale. She was terrified. "I don't understand-"
"What are you doing? Go get the medic!" Natasha shouted at her as Amy turned blue.
"I have to sit here," she answered with tears streaming.
Amy fell to the floor. Natasha tried holding her up, but her efforts were useless. Her friend was slowing down and couldn't catch a breath. Soon, she stopped moving altogether and laid on the floor lifeless.
Natasha cried out witnessing her friend dying. "No!" It was a long and strong noise. If I hadn't blocked it, the sound would have been heard through the entire building. She then looked at me. "You stupid b***h. I'm going to kill you!" She ran to me an turned into her unimpressive wolf form.
Before she could attack me I ordered her to sit. She did as I told her inches away from me. I looked around and spotted a magazine on a table next to us. I took ahold of it and rolled it up then bopped it on her nose. "Bad dog!" She let out a growl, yet I was not in the mood for any talkback. "It's a shame you're now choking too."
Her wolf let out small whimpers and she fell on her side gasping for air. Her paws flailed around. Like Amy, she slowed and eventually stopped moving as she caved into her death.
The maid on the chair was crying nonstop. She made eye contact with me. "Please don't hurt me! I won't tell anyone I swear."
"But you saw all of this. You understand why I can't let you live, don't you?"
"Please, Luna!" she begged.
"Don't you feel like you're choking?"
With tears crashing down, she nodded her head. Quickly, she began gasping for air as well. Her arm extended to me for help. I stepped back watching her as she turned blue and passed away.
I probably could have handle the whole situation better. I could have ignored their conversation and continued wandering the halls. Truth be told, there were endless possibilities of how all of this could have turned out, but it was pointless to think about those. These useless women were too far gone and frankly, I didn't care.
I tiptoed to the door and pressed my ear against it. It was very quiet on the other side so I quickly made my way out of the room and closed the door behind me, dashing out of sight. Not sure what to do next, I began climbing up the grand staircase to get to my room. Just before I reached the top, I heard announce to Roman that Alessandro was ready to speak to him in his office. A lightbulb turned on in my head and I swiftly headed to the library.
Making sure the coast was clear, I entered the library and walked into the dark and cold dungeon. When I reached the bottom of the steps, the guards were no where in sight. It made my task much easier. I approached the row of cells were my target was located.
Alpha Ethan looked up at me and smiled. "What a nice surprise, Luna. Are you here looking for an upgrade in mates?"
I laughed. "How is a captured Alpha an upgrade exactly?"
He frowned disliking my joke. "What do you want then?"
"Your friend is gone."
"You were right," he said harshly. "He was dying. Your Alpha just threw him away like he was garbage."
"Oh I'm so sorry about that. I'm sure he meant a lot to you."
"Don't treat me like an i***t. I know that you don't care. What are you doing here?"
I let out a small giggle. "You're right. I don't care. I'm actually here because I wanna use your help."
"I don't know if you've realized, but..." he yanked on the chains holding him. "I'm kind of stuck here."
"That doesn't matter."
He looked at me with a raised eyebrow. "I really doubt you need any help from me unless you're trying to take down Alpha Alessandro yourself." After I failed to respond, he smiled again. "You do, don't you? Why would you want to take down your own mate?"
"I have my own reasons. I just thought we could help each other," I said casually with a shrug.
"What's in it for me?"
"You can keep everything once he's gone. I don't care for this mansion or this pack. It's all yours if you help me get rid of him. All in time of course."
His face lit up at the thought. "I'll do it under one condition."
"What's that?"
"I get to pull the trigger."
I smiled at him. "He's all yours. For now, we're going to mess with his head and make him think he's going crazy. When he's most vulnerable, I'll let you know when to attack."
"Okay. How do you plan on doing that?"
"Right now he's meeting with Roman in his office. I'm going to release you out of these restraints and just do a quick drive by. Then you're going to run back down here and chain yourself back up."
He stared at me as if he were mesmerized then blinked back into reality and cleared his throat. "Yeah, I can do that. Sorry. I thought I just saw something in your eyes. It was probably nothing."
"They're both going to come running to find you. Once they see you here, they'll think they imagined it all."
"What are you going to do?"
After I let you out, I need to head out first. I'm not a werewolf so I'm not as fast as you guys, remember?"
"Oh yeah," he chuckled. "Alright then let's do this."
I released him from the chains and crept my way out of the dungeon and library. I went back up the grand staircase and made my way to the bedroom. A part of me wished to see the reaction of both Alessandro and Roman when they saw Alpha Ethan walk by. I just hoped the moron could do it right without getting caught.
I took a quick shower and wore baggy pants with a white shirt before lying in bed. I tried to relax while my mind ran wild with thoughts of my plan. Everything was going to unfold soon. I could feel it. My body tingled with anticipation. This was all I thought of since the love of my life had passed away. Nothing was going to stop me.
A knock on the door interrupted my thoughts. I could only imagine who it was. Instead of answering, I remained silent waiting for him to enter. As if on cue, Alessandro allowed himself into the bedroom.
"Can we talk?" he asked cautiously.
I refused to answer and turned my body to face away from him. I heard him sigh as he walked in my direction. He sat behind my back on the bed and stroked my hair causing me to move away from him.
There was a small sound that made me think was a sniffle. "Don't do that to me. You can be mad at me all you want, but I can't stand being away from you."
"What do you want from me?" I asked coldly while looking away.
"I want you to please forgive me. I was way out of line, but I swear if you give me just one more chance-"
"Whatever."
Alessandro grabbed my shoulder and pushed me flat onto my back. He climbed over me and caged me in with his muscular arms to look me in the eyes. "Stop with the attitude. I f****d up, but you are still mine. Do you understand me?"
I nodded slowly. His possessive tone and body language was turning me on. My mind was a sick mess, but I didn't care. I felt my p***y starting to get wet. I bit on my lower lip causing Alessandro to crash his lips on mine hungrily. He slid a hand inside my pants to find my c**t over my panties. He began rubbing gently as his mouth worked on mine.
Suddenly, he came to a stop. "What's wrong?" I asked a bit confused.
He shook his head. "Roman is trying to talk to me through the mind link werewolves have. It's nothing. I'll telling him to leave us alone." He began kissing me again.
Another halt was in place irritating me. "Roman again?"
He nodded. "He says it's urgent."
"Oh. What is it?" I asked curiously giving him all of my attention.
Alessandro's face went pale. He quickly masked it with a cold, angry look. "We need to lockdown the pack house. I'll send a few guards to watch your room."
"A few?" We were just building some trust. Even before that, there was only one guard at my door. "For how long?"
"I don't know. It's not safe right now. I'll check on you again as soon as I can, okay? I need to go." With that said, he pecked my lips and flew out of the door locking it behind him.
