Chapter 3

“Millies p.o.v."

I kept running as my father ran past me at full alpha strength, I was terrified this black wolf was going to kill me. I ran straight into the pack house, only thinking once I was inside I’d be safe.

My mother was coming down the steps as she saw me run in. An started to have a fit because I was tracking dirt on her clean floors.

I started to hear people yell an scream in fear behind me. That’s when something very large slammed into me. We started sliding an spinning, as we crashed into furniture than hit the wall with a large thud.

I slammed into his muscular chest sending shock waves throughout my body. I tried to gather myself when I felt teeth on the back of my neck yanking me backwards slamming me into his chest again as he moved over me. Then everything fell on us.

I heard my mother screaming for people to help us, as the noise died down an things started to move off us. I heard Cassie say again “Mate!”

I couldn’t move, I was trapped under his body weight. His scent was so inviting, the fear I once had completely vanished. Eventually people got the stuff off of us, an we were freed from the bookshelf.

The once gigantic black wolf, had reformed into a very big human man, he was out cold. Some pack members tossed a blanket over him and took him to the pack hospital for treatment.

Once I was freed I went upstairs to my room and put on clothes after shifting back into my human form. My Mother was complaining about the mess as my father came flying through the doorway followed by my brother an Drake.

He embraced me into a hug, and asked me if I was all right. I explained to him what had happened earlier with the rogue by the boarder. Which of course to no surprise he already knew.

But he didn’t care. I was his baby girl an I was in danger. My father than explained to me who the man was an informed me that I needed to check on his well-being considering the situation an that I’ve disrespected a top ranking alpha by taking his kill.

That the repercussions from taking a kill from an alpha of his level was most likely death or imprisonment.

I cringed on the inside, as my father an brother walked away. Drake hugged me, then congratulated me on my skills for my first kill and my ingenuity of doing so.

After we had our moment of yeah in your face bad guy. He offered to chaperone me to the pack Hospital to meet the Alpha Derek Simmons. On our way over, a very tall, slim yet muscular man walked up to us.

His eyes were dark from not enough sleep, you could tell he’d been tracking for weeks in his wolf form. He looked frustrated as well.

"My names Beta Matthew, but you may call me Matt. He then walked with us to the hospital, after beta Matt spoke to the doctor he informed me where the alphas room was.

When I reached the hospital room door, I was hit again with his scent. I stopped dead in my tracks stuck before the closed door.

Beta Matt just stared at me with his arms crossed, why Drake came closer saying. "Don’t be afraid he’s knocked out, besides I won’t let him hurt you.”

Matt laughed for a second at Drake’s remark. Basically saying as if you could take him on an survive.

I replied, “No, that’s not it. I think he’s my mate. His scent is so……” I paused not knowing what words to use. As I closed my eyes an breathed in this delicious scent deeply, why bringing my hands together over my chest.

Drakes face was pale, expressionless he didn’t know what to say either, just than Beta Matt spoke, “Well, let’s go find out. Shall we. You have no idea how long alpha Derek has waited for this moment.”

Just than Beta Matt opened the door an pushed me into the room closing the door behind me an not letting Drake by. I was extremely nervous an on edge.

Standing in this strangers room, who’s aura was strong enough to crush me. Surprisingly though I felt nothing. But why not?

Cassie spoke, “He’s our mate. He won’t punish us just you wait an see! I mean come on girl. Look at him, he’s gorgeous. An he’s laying here all helpless! Did you see the way he followed us home an protected us from the shelves earlier an even tried to kill the rogue. We were just faster an better at it!”

She said with such confidence I’d never seen before. I responded out loud. “Cassie! Will you shut up, we don’t know for sure if he is our mate. Let alone is going to yell at us for dishonoring him in such away like that. Considering it, he might reject us for it.” I huffed

I hated hospital rooms they gave me the willy’s, the scents alone was enough to bother me to my core. Besides all the machines an sounds.

I stood there a moment longer, sighed, then walked over to the chair by the bed an sat down quietly waiting.

His nose was twitching a little which was a good thing from what my mother had told me a long time ago when my brother got knocked out during training.

I was sitting quietly, when he finally spoke. Which caused me to look up immediately and stop fidgeting with my fingers

“Why are you talking to yourself like that? I’m assuming your talking to your wolf. Don’t worry your secret is safe with me, I do the same sometimes.” I turned bright red. He slowly sat up an spoke again.

“What’s your name?” I responded in a small shy tone. “M.. Mil… Millie-Ann Alpha Derek, but everyone calls me Millie.”

He turned an looked at me. “Millie….. I like that.” I giggled awkwardly looking the other way. That’s when I felt the electricity shoot through my body again but starting at my chin. He touched me.

Turning my face to look at him straight on, eye to eye. His face was so close to mine. I didn’t know what to do, when I tired to look the other way he huffed. That’s when he grabbed my arm pulling me into his lap.

“Don’t look away from me, I don’t f*****g like it. Do you understand!” He huffed in his alpha voice at me. Which didn’t affect me at all.

As he wrapped his arms around my waist, then softly kissed my cheek. Then spoke again softly in my ear.

“You’re a very skilled fighter, very light on your feet. But you still have a lot to learn. Don’t worry though you have me now.”

I responded. “What’s that supposed to mean!? I’ll accept my punishment but nothing more.” He shifted awkwardly beneath me before he continued on.

"Millie, Sweetheart I’m not going to punish you unless you want me too. Your my mate we are equals. Now if anyone else did that to me I’d kill them on the spot. Are you rejecting me?

Because you don’t know me and you don’t know what I can offer you as a mate. You can’t tell me that your wolf hasn’t been going crazy this whole time you’ve been sitting in my lap! The Goddess knows. Chase is ready to mark you, right here, right now honey. He’s just happy you haven’t pulled away yet. We like having you in our arms.”

A few moments passed, he spoke again “Millie?” I responded “Yes!” He touched his forehead to mine, then without warning he kissed me.

It felt like I was on angle wings an could fly the amount of electricity I felt shooting through my body. When he finally pulled his lips away from mine.

“Did you feel that too?” He quietly asked me breathlessly, I just shook my head yes. Before I could speak the hospital door opened slightly.

I could hear beta Matt speaking, “I hope your dressed an decent, I don’t want to see something I shouldn’t.” Laughing as he said it.

I felt a low growl coming from Derek’s chest as he barked out orders. “Beta, report that the rogue is dead by my hand. Also inform them we will be back soon, BUT my Luna isn’t ready to leave yet.

So we will stay here till she’s ready to go. Please inform Alpha Jack to our situation and apologize that we are here two days early before the ceremony. I’ll be staying in Millie’s room.” Beta Matt just bowed an left.

After a few moments the doctor came into the room with a change of clothes for Derek. Setting it on the bed, smiling, then leaving the room.
