Chapter 1

“Millies p.o.v."

My name is Millie-Ann Jackson “Millie for short", I’m 20, my weight is about a buck fifty-five, 5’8”. I’ve got long blonde hair past my shoulders, which I keep up most of the time so its out of my way, with chocolate colored eyes just like my father. My parents are the Alpha an Luna of pack “Crescent Moon Blue Lake”. Alpha Jack an Luna Marie. I’ve got a older brother Brad, his Alpha ceremony is in about two days.

Everyone’s been running around like crazy trying to prepare for our guests to arrive, making sure there’s enough food for all the Alphas, Lunas and Betas that would be present. Along with all of the mother’s preparing their daughters for possible mate opportunities. It drives me crazy how parents always use these types of get-togethers and parties to use as dating events.

So what can I say I’m sure my mother will be no different during this opportunity, I’m 20 years old and I’m still unmated were as my older brother who’s about to be the new Alpha of our pack has had his mate for five years now. He found his mate right away after his first shift lucky prick.

I personally believe that the moon goddess hates me! All of my friends have gotten their mates, plus they're not very many eligible bachelors left in our pack, unless you want to include the younglings an pups. But let’s get real theirs no way I would accept a mate that much younger than me.

I’m standing outside closing my eyes pulling in the Sun, wrapping my hands up, getting ready for training. My father alpha Jack always said everyone should know how to defend themselves if they want the opportunity to learn no matter your rank in the pack. I of course was totally in for this, I loved my training I was actually very skilled at it. I’m pretty sure my mother would prefer I focus on our Luna lesson though.

Being the daughter of an alpha I had certain obligations and responsibilities to up hold. What can I say I was a total Rebel, an I loved it. I made my way over to the training area. Drake my trainer, was standing there waiting for me. He’s one of my father’s most skilled fighters and trackers. I remembered back when my first lesson was. I chuckled to myself. Drake hated teaching me than, but it was alphas orders that his children be taught by only the best.

When I finally reached Drake, he gave me a smirk out of the corner of his lips. He barked “What took you sooooooooo long! I do still have patrol later you know!”

He protested! He was so much taller than me. His strength was incredible, but what did you expect from the son of a Beta. He was going to become my brother’s right hand, after my brother’s Alpha ceremony, he also didn’t have a mate yet.

Omega’s always swooned over him. But he never cared to show any attention back. As I went to go ask what we were doing for training together today. Drake got that blank expression on his face which I knew he was being mind-linked by my brother then.

I patiently waited a few minutes standing next to him, I leaned my head on his shoulder and looked up at him lovingly. Not that he’d notice at the moment because of the mind-link. A few moments later he looks down at me and says “Millie! Really! Stop doing that.” He huffed at me.

Drake continued to speak after I moved away from him giggling. “Your brother, said we need to check out the western boarder line. Would you like to accompany me? He already gave permission for you to come.”

I got super excited with all smiles anything to get out of this craziness going on an to be running free as my wolf. I was like Drakes little assistant when he’d take me with for tracking. We hurried over to the west side of the pack house, an shifted into our wolves.

My wolf Cassie was gorgeous, She’s pure white. With golden glowing diamond chocolate eyes, very well toned, soft fur an little dainty paws. I wasn’t as big as Drake or the others.

An I was just fine with that, it made me a harder target, plus I was lighter on my feet an faster than most. Drake’s wolf Ajex was very big, an multi colored with, brown, black an white. We took off towards the western boarder into the forest, with me right on Ajex's heels.

Eventually we came up to a group of trackers that work under Drake. They all bowed to me as normal, Drake barked out orders to everyone like always. Then we were off, my nose was like a kid in a candy store. We were right on the borderline when I got a whiff of something different.

I mind-linked Drake “Where are you? I think I found something!” a few seconds later I heard Drake respond. “On my way!” I slowly kept sniffing along following the scent, I didn’t realize I had walked over the borderline by myself.

Just than out of no where Cassie screams at me!

“Watch out Millie! Move!”

There's a rogue wolf on a ledge of rocks above me, I spring into action jumping out of his line of attack. My fangs an claws out ready for the next attack.

Cassie yells “Here he comes again!”

But I’m to fast for him. I run full force towards a rock jumping on the side of it around the rogue, then off the rock onto his back. I bite down hard on his back, he whimpers in pain.

I could hear Drake an the others coming in fast on my trail. I was actually kicking this male rogues ass, when this gigantic dark black wolf appeared over the ledge where the rogue once stood.

His fangs out, eyes dark as night with a rim of gold, he howled loudly. An I felt a shiver down my spine.

Cassie let out an alerted peep “Alpha!........... Mate!”

I was trying to stay focused on my opponent as all these electrical sparks started flying throughout my body.

Drake came charging in, pulling the rogues front legs out from under him. But not before the rogue had tossed me off his back an into the rocks beside us.

Drake was engaged now with the rogue along with a few other pack members. I huffed in anger on the ground by the rocks! My eyes started burning more which meant Cassie was furious!

I could feel this burning desire inside of me start, to kill the Rogue for some reason, I’d never killed anything before like this. I staggered back to my feet, an charged full speed this time at the rogue, pushing pack members out of my way. My wolf had completely taken over at this point.

I didn’t even realize that the giant black wolf had also engaged the Rogue, fighting with Drake. But it didn’t matter Cassie was in control now.

I was basically a passenger within my own body as my instincts took over leading the way. As I ran past pack members, jumped over Drake, then saw my opening!

The black wolf had the rogues attention, I was so sleek he didn’t even see me go under his body, an out between his front legs. Grabbing the rogues neck from below in my fangs sinking them in deep.

Next thing you heard was the snap of the rogues neck breaking in my fangs. As I used my own body weight to break it clean off, sending the rogues body flying into the rocks where he tossed me into a moment ago.

Standing there in front of the giant black wolf my head held high, chest out showing I wasn’t afraid of him, blood dripping from my snout. I heard a deep vibrating growl coming from my chest as I let it out an howled dropping my opponent’s head at his feet. I had won!

Drake mind-linked me “Millie, STOP! Move! Get away! Fast! Show submission NOW!”

He screamed at me! But all I kept hearing was Cassie humming “Mate!” over an over in my head. Staring into his dark black eyes with a golden rim.

Before I could respond. Drake's large wolf was infront of me, pushing me back behind him in a protective way. Showing his fangs yet submission to the black wolf before us.

Then other pack members surrounded me, protecting me. There were many more wolfs now above us on the rocks, we were completely out numbered now.

I started to regain some control cause Cassie was prancing around my head like we just found the best thing in the world.

That’s when I heard him growl…. “Mine!......”

Drake mind-linked me. “RUN! Millie RUN!”

My ears went flat to my head with panic on my face, as I turned fast on my heels an took off into the forest behind me towards our pack house an the safety of my strong alpha father. As my breathing got heavier from running an my heart racing. I could hear something gaining on me.

I was one of the fastest runners in our pack besides my father. No one could keep up with me, except for him. I started to see the pack house not to far off in the distance.

My father coming running out of the pack house doors, shifting immediately as his feet touched the dirt beneath him. As his eyes were glowing with anger. All I knew is if I stopped to look behind me that black wolf would kill me! My fathers wolf was gigantic, light brown, golden eyes, flew past me at full speed to stop my attacker.
