Three days later, the morning sun shone brightly over Johannesburg. The hospital discharge papers were finally signed, and Elena carefully held baby Luca as they prepared to leave. Adrian stood beside her carrying what looked like half the hospital room — bags of baby clothes, blankets, flowers from visitors, and gifts from friends. Elena laughed softly. “Adrian, we’re going home… not moving houses.” He shrugged. “I’m just making sure Luca has everything he needs.” The tiny baby slept peacefully in Elena’s arms, completely unaware of the excitement surrounding him.
